The question is, which came first? Did the underlying depression and suicidal thoughts lead to the consideration of turning to a transgender frame of mind, or did the choice of becoming a transgender lead the the resulting depression and suicidal thoughts? There is a whole syndrome here that is not yet well fleshed out.
Yet beneath it all is the at least subconscious if not fully conscious thought to CHOOSE to become a transgender, as this requires a denial of the existing gender that is literally in every cell of a person’s entire body. XX is girl, XY is boy, simple as that. No amount of hormones will convert the primary male attributes into female attributes without very serious surgery also being performed, and the reverse holds true to convert a female into a male.
It’s not nice to fool Mother Nature.

‘Damaged beyond repair’...that statement indicates that, no matter what you do, there is no hope for a cure for them. Is that what you really mean?
I ask because...at least how I see it...the next step would be “putting them out of their misery”. If I’m wrong, please correct me.

As I suggested earlier I blame parents...teachers..and the Rat Party for these individuals.They're pawns in a grand social experiment that is...predictably...going horribly wrong.
I think such rates are always high amongst the mentally ill. No matter the category of that illness.

We are unable to connect the dots between cause and effect. This is true blindness.
First of all, this story starts out with accepting that there is such a thing as a transgender, which is wrong. There is no such thing as a transgender. These people are confused about their gender and need psychological and/or psychiatric help. Taking drugs and surgically mutilating your body is not going to change your gender, it’s just going to mess up your body. The underlying mental condition is still there and being left untreated. That’s why there is such a problem with suicide and suicidal thoughts.

Sadly I imagine a lot of this is a result of child abuse. Not always but enough to be a fairly common cause.
So, in non “newspeak”, the girls had higher rates of depression than the boys, which is what we would expect to find. More girls tend to suffer from anxiety/depression and tend to “cut” themselves more. Boys are more likely to go through with suicide because they choose more violent means.

The mentally ill are encouraged to be mentally ill and mutilate their bodies in the process. The outcome is not a surprise. Democrats, the homosexual lobby, and the medical profession supporting this are depraved.
