Apple and Google have unveiled a rare partnership to add technology to their smartphone platforms that will alert users if they have come into contact with a person with COVID-19. People must opt in to the system, but it has the potential to monitor about a third of the world's population

I’ll know when Robitussen ads start appearing all over my internet searches that I’ve crossed paths with a Covfefe.
Digital brownshirts are here (they’ve been here a while).
Guys we can do this. We can leave them at home. We’re all a little long in the tooth here and lived a long long time without them.
I don’t know where to get some kind of movement going but I say Americans leave them home for a lot of the time unril we got some privacy back.
And if I get one joke about where to go for movements... :)
“kind of movement going but I say Americans leave them home for a lot of the time unril we got some privacy back.”
Because We’re all in this together!
With that this board I don’t know if that was sarcasm or not LOL
But honest I’m trying to think of the times where I really needed my phone. I say once a month I really needed it for the GPS because I don’t have one built into my car.
I have no home phone so I use it there. And I guess once you have something in the car that can track you there but at least not when you’re walking around.
Forced insertion of chips under skin will come soon. And then we need to be risking our lives to stop that
I agree. My kids/wife just got me a phone a couple of years ago. I wouldn’t miss that tracking device (for my wife) at all. I never liked talking on the phone when I was young and there was an operator and “party line”. : )
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahah!
Lol
Sure.....for now.
Confuse the crap out of Apple / Google. Tape your cell phone to the family dog.
Opt in.
Snort.
How do they think understaffed county health departments are doing such a great job without anyone opting in?
potential to monitor about a third of the world’s population
~~~~~~
Uh, do Apple/Google have billions of autonomous drones with anti-personnel bombs to terminate violators?
Dumb question...cant we just shut phone off?
No, they can still track you.
I don’t know how recent that is that they have had that capability.
ROFL!!!
I would suggest a wild rabbit.
Wow. Didnt know that. Amazing times were living in.
I know that the phone can “listen” even if it is in your pocket. A friend of mine saw his neighbor on his new riding lawnmower. He said he had been thinking about getting a riding mower and they were chatting.
He gets inside his house and logs on. An add for a riding lawn mower pops up. He had never done a search on mowers, etc., just thought about it, until he talked with his neighbor. With his phone in his pocket.
