Unlike the purist RATS, we have tons of Republican politicians who do not agree with the GOP platform on abortion. Not only that, in states like California, Illinois, Massachusetts, etc., the party "leadership" will often twist the arms of GOP voters and browbeat them into nominating pro-abortion Republicans for statewide office, claiming that's the only kind of "electable" Republican in those states.
