The ‘new normal’ is collectively getting off our dead asses and fighting to retake the freedoms we’ve lost. Staring today.
I truly don't see how this can continue for more than a another few weeks or a month or so ... likely much less ... as the novelty of house arrest (oops! I mean "shelter-in-place") wears increasingly thin (especially as the weather gets better, the days grow longer and, if kids are involved, the turmoil inside the house begins to rival the turmoil going on outside!), and as people crawl out of the fetal position they've been holding as much to protect themselves from the panic and hysteria as to protect themselves from the virus and get back to work, get their kids back to school and get the thousands upon thousands of small businesses back up and running (at least the ones that haven't, quite literally, been destroyed by government fiat) ... in other words, Get Back to Living and accept that we live in a world filled with colds and flus and even viruses (i.e., the flu with a press agent).
That is, like you I have faith in the American spirit which, though a bit tattered at the moment, is built on liberty and individualism and will rise again (to the surprise and considerable disappoinment of those on the Democrat/Left. Ever the optimist, Cheers!
Whats most pathetic about this is that I see this attitude in spades right here on FR.
The “new normal” will be the same old crap.
Of course left will, once again, attempt to take advantage of the situation.
However, the left will miscalculate that the majority of did not enjoy being under house arrest while their economy does a nose dive. and most (not counting the twisted leftist) can’t wait to get back to the old normal. (MAGA!)
After this plague breaks, President Trump should go through every federal and federally supported program and cut it if it was not of benefit to the country. Everything on Pelosi's pork list should be at the top of that list, with the Metropolitan Opera right at the top for snagging $25 million and then firing the performers anyway. Sorry, guys, that's your last dollar if I have anything to say.
