I thought social justice warriors (SJWs) in general were the most non-essential people around, because of the way they invent grievances that don’t bother the rest of us, like calling it “cultural appropriation” when white people eat foods their ancestors did not make. Of course, Michael Mann and his lawyer could fit in the SJW category.

I think at least one of the two most non-essential professions would actually be: Politician.

I like Mark Steyn, an erudite man with many talents. Often his brilliance for writing is overshadowed by his verbosity, as is the case in the piece. By the time you finish it, you have no idea what the point was.

Steyn: Mann's demand that some other guy's lawyer accept service for some fellows in another country where he's already in defiance of the courts is a desperate move even by his loser standards.
Try saying that three times fast!

Dean of Equity at my college. We know two things for sure.
She makes a lot of money.
She contributes to Democrats and liberal causes.

There are days when I think “Congressman” and “Senator” should top that list.

Imho the two most important professions are doctors and soldiers. I disagree on the assessment of doctors! I pointed out to my brother-in-law, who is a practicing doctor, that throughout the ages, plumbers have saved more lives and prevented more disease than doctors. He grudgingly agreed.
