A little less than two months ago, the U.S. State Department made a curious announcement that suggests President Trumps America First administration put China First at a critical moment during the burgeoning Wuhan pandemic. I asked the State Department about the controversy this weekand the vague and nonresponsive responses I received on background from a Foggy Bottom spokesperson raise more questions than they answer. The Feb. 7, 2020 press statement attributed to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is headlined: The United States Announces Assistance to Combat the Novel Coronavirus. That week, we are told, the State Department facilitated the transportation of nearly 17.8 tons of donated medical supplies to the Chinese people, including masks, gowns, gauze, respirators, and other vital materials. These donations are a testament to the generosity of the American people. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Nearly 18 tons of critical medical supplies went to the Communist government whose country unleashed COVID-19 on the world, downplayed it, punished whistleblowers who warned about it and attacked critics worldwide as racist? Whose idea was this generosity? Which American people approved this plan? Was the aid solicited or unsolicited? I asked our government. The answer: We have no additional details at this time. The press statement elaborated further that the United States government is announcing it is prepared to spend up to $100 million in existing funds to assist China and other impacted countries
to contain and combat the novel coronavirus. This commitmentalong with the hundreds of millions generously donated by the American private sectordemonstrates strong U.S. leadership in response to the outbreak. How much of the up to $100 million has been spent to assist China instead of the American people since Feb. 7, I asked our government. The answer: No reply.

Blacklisted by History: The Untold Story of Senator Joe McCarthy and His Fight Against America's Enemies
M. Stanton Evans
Pretty easy to answer. Give the Chicoms what they need to fight it, so that it might be halted or at least slowed over there. It makes sense. It is enlightened self-interest, not “generosity”. At the same time, travel was banned and returning non-citizens were quarantined. Returning citizens were asked to self-quarantine, but enough didn’t that it spread anyway.
The same people who decided to give... give 2 trillion loaned dollars borrowed from the Federal Reserve private world bank collaborator-— to the “affected” masses. To shut down our economy.
They would be called Chinese Communists agents— and would consist of obmauamao continuing embedded US State Department Communists. McCarthy was right-— and it lives on generationally. the only acceptable explanation for such “largesse”is that we smuggled in “in country” agents who are still reporting (at great risk) on the truth of the numbers of dead. The only way we could get that, nominally, other than satellite feeds and number guesses from burial urns.
The far left has been running with this story for quite a while. I thought it was some wacky conspiracy theory to discredit the Trump administration but now it’s starting to show up on conservative news sites. How can they defend this other than trying to say they were attempting to nip the infection in the bud before it started to spread? Are the Chinese returning the favor and sending 18 tons back?
Yeah, all the production on earth is in China. So why did we have to send product BACK to the factory. They didn’t need a thing from us.
This is just State Department virtue signalling. Same as them going behind Trump’s back to fly infected people from that cruise ship back to America, and in a plane with healthy people.
There was zero need to send China a single mask.
“Are the Chinese returning the favor and sending 18 tons back?”
Yeah, sure. They shipped it like a week ago. Call back tomorrow and they’ll try to get you a tracking number.
I'm just a retired carpenter out in the country, but I'd imagine you've answered your own question.
If State told me it was Thursday, I'd immediately reach for a calendar.
“Yeah, all the production on earth is in China. “
And was shutting down due to the virus. At the same time, the hunt was on for more masks for domestic use while the virus was still very contained, in preparation for the upcoming outbreak. Sorry. Job well done. We’ll have to disagree.
“Same as them going behind Trumps back to fly infected people from that cruise ship back to America, and in a plane with healthy people.”
You mean, let the US citizens stay on the cruise ship indefinitely and infect everyone there while receiving inadequate medical attention from the ship’s doctor. I was unaware that there was a biplane available with an infected pilot. These were US citizens in need of treatment. I’m sure the other passengers on the plane were not in the least bit interested in mingling with their unwanted guests.
Is your idea of an America First policy fighting over toilet paper in a supermarket? Or is it opposing anything that isn’t sufficiently myopic to meet your standards?
The big spread came in through the backdoor, ie Italy.
Sorry, made a typo. Meant to say ‘’the hospital I work in’’. “House’’. What was I thinking?!
If I can answer the question then why does the government have no comment?

Thanks for the info. I was surprised when I was told this by the doctors at the hospital I work at. I’m working in an environment full of this filthy pestilence , it gets into me four times and my immune system resisted it. And a doctor thinks I might be able to be part of a solution? Well, we’ll see about that. I’m not harboring any ‘’super hero’’ notions.
Thanks for that gathered list.
It was probably well underway by the time the PRC finally admitted that Covid19 could be transmitted from human to human, not just in under-cooked bat soup.
When this is all over, I expect some sort of reparations from China, to the tune of trillions.
Your most welcome.
