I was actually surprised to see that people here did not see this days ago when it was released. I did. It was news in many places. But I saw it first on one of those forums where they talk about Cue. They are much more informed about things like this. It was probably even discussed here in the Chat/Conspiracy corner of FR. The MSM keeps things like this pretty quiet.

Trump is usually two steps ahead of everybody else, and this gives him the ability to focus LO type help quickly where it’s needed. And why might that be?

COVID-19 could easily cripple an entire city’s police dept. especially in a hotspot like NYC.

Unrest/riots/violence could become widespread as the lockdowns continue.

Orderly distribution of food/resources where in short supply.

To quickly respond to threats of terrorist attacks or invasion, including to lockdown our southern border.

And of course, there’s always the unknown as in “he knows something we don’t know”.

Interesting times we’re living in, and I thank God everyday that that we have President Trump at the helm.

The same reasons apple and facebook have millions of n95 masks. The same reason NOAA, the IRS and the Dept of Ed have fully automatic weapons.
And here we are, not a bumpstock in sight.

When you say many, do you really mean ‘some’ in their 20’s & 30’s have lifelong organ damage from this virus?. The cause of this is due to a cytokine storm. I don’t know how many in that age group will have life long organ damage tho. But, Covid-19 is not the only disease that causes a cytokine storm.

Bored people do stupid things.

August used to be the big month for street violence. Bored, too hot to stay indoors (before prevalent air conditioning). The gangs would burst into the parks and have at it. (Yes, I'm that old).

The instinct for self-preservation (and cool weather) may be keeping the usual suspects at bay.

Keep order. Augment logistics. People in “Isolation” may be able to call out for urgent needs, food, etc. our best tool to stop this virus is don’t let it get to “it’s next host”. Not drugs. Not ventilators. Don’t let it infect one more person. That is the ONLY way to stop an epidemic. Don’t give it it’s next victim. What makes epidemics so “historical” is by the time you are “through with it” it ain’t through with you. When you’re finally horrified enough to do what needs to be done you still have two weeks of escalating horror.

In the past it’s been 55. Doctors don’t ruck up mountains. It could get that bad. I seriously thought I was “out of the woods” at 55. Sure, everybody is patriotic and will respond but trust me, no 65 year old doctor is eager to go participate in this. One slip and it’s, what, 50% mortality?

I missed this when it happened last Friday. Authorization to call up to 1 million in the reserves for active duty, with focus on medical MOS.

My understanding was the LA riots tapered off as word got out that mail carriers wouldn’t enter the ‘hood - and people were awaiting their gubmint checks.

Seriously.

The Black Lies Matter riots weren’t impacted in the same way because all of those wealth transfer/Danegeld payments had gone electronic.

What kind of culture does talk like that come from?

"I don’t know how many in that age group will have life long organ damage tho."

I don't either, and some of the young people who gave their stories about having the disease to news companies might not have the healthiest of lifestyles (some of them entertainment celebrities). So far, only a small minority will have damage that's noticeable and very long term.

Glad you responded familyop.
I wonder if dp0622 may have mental issues?
I usually lurk, haven’t posted in many years, but dp0’s post raised my ire. Looked for a flag option, didn’t see one.
A shame civility has left FR, and some posters now seem to be foul mouthed and insulting to other posters.
He/it appears to be from NY, and perhaps some of it is cultural, but still, that is no excuse.

Hopefully Mr. Robinson or another admin can remove his post?

My guess is that most of them are medical and logistics personnel (doctors, nurses, technicians, etc.) to help augment the civilian medical system. As more people get sick, more health care workers will get sick themselves, and will need help / backup.

I’ve been watching Medcram for about 1.5 months now and Dr John Campbell for a month. I’m pretty familiar with what’s going on.

That first guy would be good to show to a 10 year old tho or someone whose brain isn’t working on all cylinders.

Yes, he’s pretty funny. :D

I have no medical background but am hoping that increased caution, sunshine (UV), warmth and outdoor activities will decrease the spread over the next few weeks.
