We are now in the year 2020. Unless this 101 year old man “survived” the 1918 Spanish Flu in the womb, something is not right about this story.

I heard it from Brian Williams. He’s good with numbers.

The really deadly wave of the Spanish Flu didn’t happen until late in 1918. If he hasn’t had his birthday yet this year, it could be correct that he was alive for that. He may have been born between the first and second wave of it.

It was in Italy before 1918.

It came back to the US at the end of the War which was 1918.

Spanish flu was around for more than one year. In fact, the first year it came around wasn’t even the pandemic year. The second and third years of the disease had higher fatalities than the first.

The “Spanish” flu continued all through 1919, and probably into 1920. It, along with reployment of troops at the end of “the war to end all wars”, to use lying Wilson’s lying lie, were the causes of the 1919-1920 worldwide depression.

So 101 is certainly poossible.

something is not right about this story.

I see what you are saying but the 1918 flu was still killing and still in the papers in 1919 and after though it dropped off after that. "1918 Flu" is just a name, better perhaps than Spanish Flu, but name it after the first year it appears. Just like COVID-19 not COVID-2020. Good thinking anyway!
