I dont know what we are going to do. I have a Doberman who is going to need to be put to sleep in the next week or so. Our vet has sent out an email saying they will stay open but to protect their staff you have to drive up and wait your turn in the car. I asked my wife if she thought they would let me just bring the stuff home and do it here, my allergist is going to let me pick up my Xolair for home administration today. She said they probably would be afraid I might give the vet meds to her. Hadnt even crossed my mind. Epidemics change EVERYTHING.
I think euthanasia was one of the ptactices allowed.

Sorry to hear of your dog...
We had to put down our 17+ year old cat yesterday...
The procedure was to call at the front door, they took the cat in, called us in the car to inform us that she was diagnosed with several untreatable conditions.
They opened up and let us visit her, then the Wife left and I stayed with Katinka through the procedure. It was good for all of us to say good bye and we are grateful that the vet let us in for the final visit.
Usually we have had the vet come to the house for the final visit, then I bury the cat on our property where the just passed cat liked to ‘hang out’ - couldn’t get the vet this time and the ground is still frozen so we’re having her cremated and will scatter her ashes under some aspen trees next month.
There are animal hospice companies, perhaps they could help you?
Best to you, FRiend.
