If they were qualified in the medical field, don’t they practice those skills in civilian labor pool?
I mean, not everyone becomes a doctor or nurse and then gives up medicine after the service.
Sounds like a possible sequester of skilled service members from a labor pool already strained in the middle of a crisis.
Could be, but they mention letting them know if you are already doing this. So many docs retired after Øbamacare, this might be a way to contribute without all the licensing hassle from the state boards. And it is an honorable thing to do. Gawd, I love our military.
How about retired?
My wifes oncology surgeon was in the reserves. Just today we were looking at the tent set up by the National Guard outside his window. He was telling stories how the only room air conditioned in his hospital in Iraq was the operating Odom. He said he liked doing surgery all day because it was hot.
I dont think he is going to give up his $750,000 a year practice to go back to that.
If they retired, they are old. Wouldn’t return to service pretty much kill them?
