How about a Republican governor banning the use of RU486 by EO? That would provoke some interesting reactions.
Though, as we all know, progressives love to rule by fiat because the process of legislation and decision making should not be left to the hoi polloi.

Agreed. Is this even legal? If the FDA, a federal agency, allows "off label" use of drug, can a state ban it? We have federal preemption in this country in this subject area. Each state doesn't have its own schedule of approved pharmaceuticals. It'd be a total mess if we did (e.g., X cancer drug is okay in Wyoming, but not in Oregon, etc.). Where does this guy get off doing this?

I agree. The Off Label use of this drug isnt something that is under the control of any Governor. That is an FDA managed use.
