You still don’t get it. The explanation for why it could never be a “cure-all” type drug at an advanced stage of the disease is because of organ damage. The second comment is a clarification of the first.
Sounds like a distribution problem. Where is the NJ Governor? FEMA? The city, county, and state should have a plan on addressing capacity at various hospitals and providing needed supplies. This is a management problem.
NJ has a total of 2,817 active cases. There have been 27 deaths for the entire state. They should be able to manage that level of infection.
“What war zones have they lived in?”
They’ve watched every episode of MASH a hunnert times, you silly!
We need war against Communist China. Watch these freaks do something (against Taiwan, against SE Asia) while the US is preoccupied with the Communist Chinese bio-weapon
There's no facility that can make paper masks and gloves in NYC, NJ area?
How many hospitals are in tha NE area a drive away?

Just went by tonight our local rural hospital. Nothing going on. Few vehicles in parking. Yet the “campus” is huge, like an O-BodyMortgageCare money laundering operation.
Yep, thought about that tonight. 10 hours from NY, but our State Gov. and Health Director??? We might have another civil states war.
Or flights away.
Last point: The hospital system will have to cover vector to vector transmission. On a more macro scale, note how Gov Florida wants no flights in from NY, NJ

The writers of these news article appear to be vying for “DRAMA QUEEN” awards.
If your lungs look like ground glass you will have decreased lung capacity. I agree. People still might consider that preferable to death
The dr was unprofessional and hysterical. I used to live a mile from that hospital and have many friends living in Teaneck NJ where the hospital is located. Two of them were in the hospital Sunday visiting (still allowed) and noticed nothing unusual.
As for “begging for donations”, Holy Name has been doing that since the 1950’s.
I’ve worked in two hospital ER’s in the last 25 years. I’m currently working in a third in southern NJ. It is not uncommon, even in times such as these for hospital Er’s, when they are at capacity to ‘’divert’’ cases to other hospital Er’s.
The mortality rate is likely to go DOWN, not up as the testing expands and identifies new cases. The number who dievwill go up but the % of deaths to reported cases will decline as it already has from about 4% to about 1%.
True that. Bergen County currently has the highest number of Corona cases. I think it’s around 400+.
Nice post, thank you.
One of the best and largest hospital in the nation, Hackensack Medical Center is located less than 3 miles away. Another large Hospital the Englewood Hospital is also less than 3 miles away.
Why aren’t they in trouble? If they were this story would have damn sure mentioned it.
