INDIANAPOLIS — Governor Eric Holcomb has ordered Hoosiers to stay home as the state and country continue to try and fight the spread of the coronavirus COVID-19.

“The next two weeks are critical if we are to slow the spread of COVID-19, and we must slow the spread. You must be part of the solution, not the problem,” said Gov. Holcomb.

I listened to his press conference and did not get the idea that this will be enforced. He didn’t use that direct language that you must stay home. It was mostly a statement proclaiming government employees would be drawn down to minimal strength and various things would not be enforced such as expired licenses and registrations.

I see more mayhem coming to the neighborhood grocery store.

I have care and gift packages that I’d like to send to family members in other states. Will I be allowed to do this?

I think most sane and civic minded people who can stay home are doing so.

The real problem here is with the ferals in our big cities.

I am in Lafayettte. Went to the Payless/Kroger and things still looked bleak. We could get what we needed though.

He was really trying to be a tough guy with the “one bad apple” statement, but he really comes across as weak.

Exactly

Our county counsel members went down to Starlight distillery and picked up five gallon buckets of the hand sanitizer they were making. Dropped some off to Salem mayor who had provided buckets and distributed to local hospital, jail and nursing home.

We’re all working together in So Indiana

I haven’t obeyed a single stupid order from any government official on this. Tomorrow I expect to travel to a state that allegedly has a travel ban in place. We’ll see how that goes. The cop who pulls me over will be the first person who has been closer to me than 10 feet away in almost a week.

UPS sent out an email saying they’re an essential function and will remain open. That might not be true of independent stores but the main offices should be open for shipping.

Trump has shown great respect for Federalism up to this point. However, he might be forced to change course if critical supply chains start to break-down because of all these governors trying to one-up each other.

Yesterday my husband and I were out to get a few groceries. Because there are also other things besides groceries there, we went to a Walmart, a place we go infrequently. There weren’t many people there, but it wasn’t empty. I noticed that younger people paid no attention to personal space of 6’, not even 3’. In a main aisle that was very spacious, we saw a group of 3 teenagers approaching. We moved to one side and went single file. They saw us widen our space, but one girl came up directly to me and sneezed on me. Then she laughed as she continued, so I know it was completely on purpose. She didn’t apologize. I was shocked. I should have gone over to the nearest adult employee and reported the incident, but I didn’t. Those kids are bored and are getting their thrills harassing older folks. They have no business being out and about creating havoc and spreading whatever germs they do carry, even if it’s not CoVid 19. Imbeciles.

First it was the national “next two weeks” that started last Monday.

One week into that, now another “next two weeks”.

Power drunk Governors want this to be a “new normal”.

Thanks for the info. I usually have better luck at my local post office, but if they won’t take a package, then I will go into the next town and go to the UPS store there.
