Joe Scarborough comments on the president's latest briefing on the coronavirus outbreak, calling the announcement of using a malaria drug for treatment another "overpromise" from the administration.

ME: I wondered why the very real possibility of chloroquine tablets being a effective treatment wasn't headline news everywhere. It's on Fox News and here on FR and Elon Musk got it. So I searched and MSNBC dismissed it as more Trump happy talk, other mainstream media is either ignoring it , dismissing it or leading with the latest bad Italy story-ignoring no deaths in China.
This is what a lot of us have been saying here on FR, that the way the media is pushing an exaggerating any negatives is not to inform the public but to get Trump. Yes the virus is real but the coverage is not. It's like the lady (tatoos up and down both arms) bagging groceries at Walmart Neighborhood store that I was at this morning, I said "strane times and the regular flu is goring crazy" She replied, " well what do you expect when we have a President who says he didn't know the flu killed people? It killed his own father." (out of context and false) I didn't say anything at first and then just said as nicely as I could "this is no time to make political points."
What are others opinion? Is the coverage fair?
So, if Joe gets it...don’t give him the stuff.

This is a global crisis. We should see more rallying behind the president as in past administrations. Be supportive or at least constructive.
I rarely watch TV news but I have seen a few recent press conferences with the president or the task force. Scientists, business people, government leaders at the ready to answer questions, and all the US “journalists” do is pepper Trump with the same “gotcha” questions over and over like isn’t “China virus racist” and “don’t you feel selfish not getting tested?”
Today’s “news” media are indeed enemies of our country.
Just more evidence that leads to the DS, China and the lapdog Monica Media were all in cahoots with the release of this crap to try and take out the POTUS by killing the world economy, especially the U.S. economy. It was their last-ditch effort to take him out short of an assassination attempt...which they’ll probably try next.

I saw a couple articles way before Trump mentioned these treatments saying these two drugs were working. The media is in get Trump mode even if it means millions die mode. Leftists are truly sick and it’s kind of scary how deranged they are.

I just scrolled through Yahoo News on my phone. You are right. All the stories are china virus doom and gloom and anti-Trump. About 50 stories down was finally an article about the malaria drug but the long title hid it in how Trump’s positive announcement was shot by his own FDA guy. Unbelievable!
Has anyone asked the president whether he or anyone in the government or in his family are taking these drugs?
President Trump referenced a malaria drug, hydroxychloroquine, probably the only drug I do not have in my medicine cabinent that has been available world wide for 50 years. The drug is owned by Bayer which is a German company. So far there have been 14,544 Wuhan virus infections in Germany. There has been 43 deaths. The German death rate is .2% whereas world death rate is 3.5%. Might be that the FDA will permit its use to treat Wuhan Virus here also. Bayer sent some three million tablets to CDC to use here.
President Trump clearly wants chloroquine tried on patients.
The FDA has to be careful, however, and stated that they would be doing trials to see if it works.
But I wonder if Trump’s statement gives U.S. doctors enough cover to offer it as an off-label usage right away. They probably already are able to do that, but his announcement could prod a lot more of them to go ahead and try it out.
If they do, it will become obvious fairly quickly if they’re getting good responses and that news will spread through the medical community (and the patient community as well) and it will be broadly used way before the completion of any trial.
In a medical emergency of this sort a lot of red tape has to get cut to get anything done quickly. Fortunately we elected a President who loves cutting red tape.
Importantly, if it worked as well as early investigations indicate, we could soon reopen the country for business and treat cases as they occurred without overwhelming the medical community. It could also keep the medical staff healthy as they work, not a minor point.
Don’t know about anyone else, but I’d sure put a heckuva lot more trust in the what the medical community has to say than some steaming pile of hammered dog shite like communist Joe Scarborough.
Why would the President or his family, etc. take these drugs? They are for treatment of the virus, not a vaccine. Or maybe I don’t understand your question.
These Mensa rejects must realize that the President is just passing along information he received from medical experts.
They just choose to ignore that fact.
