Don't take my word for it, look at the bar graphs for all 7 countries yourself. I used the ones found on https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/south-korea/

Call me overly hopeful, berate me for giving false hope, but that's what I see in the data... 2 weeks of acceleration, several days of plateau, and then a decline. Prayers up that I'm close!!

(Also, if you can figure out how to post the bar graphs from that webpage, I'd be grateful... the usual IMG SRC isn't working for me, and I'd appreciate the visual backup to my data!!)

I hope you have flame-proof clothing on - because you’re about to get torched by a certain segment of Freepers. Hang on tight!

The rate of growth that you are seeing in the US are not indication of growth. You are seeing numbers limited by tests. No test..no cases.

In two weeks or so, you will see a real growth rate. Once our testing is in the hundreds of thousands... not the thousands.

Not saying you are right or wrong.

But I think you might be a bit optimistic. Who knows? Not me.

Washington State shows no new cases today. That really made me feel optimistic.

Well we’re up 2500 cases and 35 deaths today. Appears we are just beginning the vertical climb,

By the way son’s friend works at CDC, says expect interstates to be closed soon.

Almost 500 Italians died TODAY. One day. I hope you’re right, but I’m not seeing it. I’ve said the same about this whole thing for the past 2 months: I hope I am able to say “I overreacted” instead of “I told you so.”

VP Pence and Dr. Birx had a lot to say about this at today’s briefing. Potentially great news.

I think testing will cause a big spike but if those testing positive self-quarantine, we'll see the desired plateau over the next five or so weeks. The spreading closures will help as well.

On a side note, where I work part-time today, we had a group of Bay Area Chinese pop in, most with masks on, visiting Reno to escape quarantine. A bit upsetting at their lack of responsibility to be potentially spreading Chinese Coronavirus. Were they infected? Where they individually supposed to be under self-quarantine? Do they know? And, from my perspective, they simply did not care. Not great acts of citizenship, presuming they are citizens.

as all of those who have had no symptoms suddenly get added to the pile

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Why will people with no symptoms be tested? Will there be so many tests and will they be so convenient that everyone will take one?

It’s not looking good in NYC, they may need to be locked down for a month.

Italy's last 4 days were 3500, 3600, 3200, and 3500... seems like a plateau to me.

Italy had 4207 today.

Look at the logarithmic plots for total cases and deaths. Straight lines mean an exponential growth. When the lines curve to right, the growth rate is slowing, or to a slower growth exponential. When they curve to left, the growth rate is increasing along a faster (steeper) exponential.

With increased testing in the US, we'll see faster growth. We will be over 10,000 tomorrow.

The images on that page are scalable vector graphics (SVG). It's not a file at the site. The image tag will not work.

We know there’s going to be a spike in the number of cases as more testing capacity comes online, because just as in China they cases are out there but no way to know until the people are tested.

On the other side, we are getting a zillion testing kits put out soon, so we will also likely see a spike in reported numbers, as all of those who have had no symptoms suddenly get added to the pile, so I may get to look like a total loon after all. :/>

You don't get to take the credit for loon looking. Dr. Fauci already warned us those numbers would spike when testing becomes widespread.

poster "gas_dr" had the same thoughts as you a couple of nights ago.....states we should see a turnaround in 3-5 days according to his stats.....

now TPTB could ramp up testing as we could see a huge number of cases...

but testing and positives do not necessarily mean incapacitating sickness....

we'll see the death rates..

and I hope they don't change the criteria for "death by corona virus" to "probable death by corona virus"....
