Testing, and generating real analysis of the infectivity and recovery rates, is integral to calming the panic being fomented by the media. The misinformation in play can only be countered by real information.
The hope is that we can get real data with some integrity in the “denominator” of infection, morbidity and morality ratios. We need good quality data (which we simply don’t have right now) so that we are not solely dependent on “expert opinion”. In my life I’ve seen people in my family die prematurely from an overdose of expert opinion.
