The Cuyahoga County Court is looking to release hundreds of inmates from the Cuyahoga County Jail Saturday morning due to coronavirus concerns.
Judges concerned about the virus spreading through the jail.
Cuyahoga County judges are holding a special Saturday morning session to try to settle cases with guilty pleas, release inmates or send them to prison, or release them on house arrest.

woah, i did not expect this....
same thing happened in another country
To the tune of My Sharona: Crime Corona!
That is a bizarre response, just keep them in their cells. Why wouldn’t that work?
So they will let these criminals out who may now be infected to infect others and possibly commit more crimes? Unbelievable!!!!
I predicted this Thursday or Friday.
These people are too stupid to live.
They’ll need the room for all the soon-to-be curfew breakers...
Isn’t mass hysteria just grand!
Good G-d the Media has played us like fools!
Let’s see.
They are in jail. Unlikely to get it from the outside.
Or they are in jail and have it, so they release them in to the community to spread it.
Too big a risk that it would just tear through the whole place — infecting prisoners and staff alike. It’s not difficult to imagine monstrous lawsuits arising from that.
That said, I hope that violent criminals will be kept contained — with all precautions taken to prevent an epidemic in the institutions involved.
Because “they” need to create mayhem in the streets. What about mental hospitals?? It’s not complete mayhem without evil AND crazy
..we are so screwed...
probably due to prison visits.....
they tried to ban visits in Italy and riot ensued
Well heck, send them home. They shouldn’t have been in jail anyway. Their presence there is the result of a racist society and they shouldn’t be penalized because of their color! Taking it for granted they are black? Yeah! But better hope they don’t get the virus AFTER they get released or it will be the county’s fault and problem!
That is a bizarre response, just keep them in their cells. Why wouldnt that work?
Liberalism is a mental disease.
I can see the closeness factor problem. Then who would take care of all of them if they got sick? They can share hospital wards with everyone else.
1. Each person who is incarcerated for a crime goes to a specially disinfected isolation unit. These units are disinfected to prevent any possible infection brought in by previous testees.
2. Each person who is incarcerated, is tested and stays in that cell until the test results have come back.
3. Each person testing positive, is sent to a quarantine cell to undergo observation for symptoms such as elevated temperatures.
4. When symptoms appear they will receive treatment by a trained medical team specially protected for their purpose.
5. All prisoners who have no more symptoms, will be put into the normal prison system once they have tested negative with two tests 24 hrs apart.
5. Those who test negative, go through the normal justice system. If convicted, they will go through step 1 above.
6. All prisoners will be tested for COVID-19. Those who test positive will go to special isolation units.
7. All prison workers will be tested for COVID-19 weekly using the process described above starting with step 1. This is to prevent them from infecting the prison population. This effort means they will be tested and spend a 24 hr period in confinement in specially disinfected isolation units until the results have determined they are negative.
All is the price that needs to paid for the rule of law.
I would say this process should be performed at such senior facilities like the notorious Kirkland Life Care Center.
How many of the cruise ship passengers who were infected (20%?) have died or are seriously ill?
Since we haven’t heard, I’m guessing the number is almost zero.
I can’t believe these #*$_*$ listened to Squawd member Ayanna Pressley on this.
