This article seems both outdated and incomplete.
It should have mentioned that the USA also now has banned travel from the UK and Ireland in addition to Continental Europe. Instead, it only mentions that the EU is pissed off at Trump. Trump has made the EU look worse by staging the travel ban.
It should also have mentioned that Belgium has the highest COVID-19 infection rate in Europe. However mentioning this would also make the EU look bad, which is possibly why it is not mentioned.
Schengen was a really bad idea.
The EU official said we shouldn’t use ideology and close our borders when WHO said that closing borders was ineffective. What idiocy. And, talk about “ideology!”
I love it that even the countries in Europe haven’t consulted the EU when they closed their borders. That’s because the EU is useless except for regulating prosperity away and redistributing wealth. The EU is a Western version of the Soviet Union, but without nukes or a military. It will go the same way as the Soviet Union. The thing is European countries are too small and limited to survive on their own. But their cultures are too different, one might choke out “diverse,” to get along. No, diversity isn’t a good thing.
There are no borders to prevent you from moving between one state and another in the US. We’re going to have the same problem.
