WorldWide COVID-19 Cases By Country

Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) – Research and Statistics

Look, we know China created it, and thus once it got released they got hit the hardest. Iran got hit hard because the Islamic rulers think their spit is all you need. Many reports from inside both China and Iran say the problem is 10 times worse. We have no clue about NK, but then dead men tell no tales. Italy is so bad because they refused to do anything to prevent the spread into their country, and still are lacking miserably.

In America, Trump jumped on this quickly. Thus the vast majority of cases came in from China, or other countries effected by the Chinese spread. Worldwide the numbers are dropping, but again I ask, why should I panic? I do what I do every flu season, I stay home as much as I can. While staying away from anyone who even has a simple sniffle. Has worked for me my whole adult life. At 63, I like my precautions, and will continue using them COMMON SENSE is all we need. I never have and never will get a flu shot, but I am sure when I get too old to say no, I will be forced to get it and shortly after getting the shot God will call me home.

You are incorrect on much you have said (worldwide situation is getting worse, not better, China and S.Korea ae getting over it, and N.Korea has 14 day quarantine for ALL arrivals -- so they may escape this altogether), but you may well be correct on flu shots:

there was a research conducted a few years ago showing that flu shots increase probability of being infected by other viruses -- including coronavirus -- about 4 times. --

At some point we will hopefully have statistics on people who got coronovirus -- it would be very interesting to see how many of them had flu shots.

Actualluy, it is not getting worse.

Only if you consider more countries have cases. That is normal, but the cases being reported are causing less problems than anticipated.

Like every season, the elderly are hit the hardest.

Mine you, this virus was specifically created to wipe out the most vulnerable. Why? Well China has over a billion people, and they know they are losing to Trump. They need to reduce the population. What better way than to wipe out Those who are the least productive.

Like all virus Seasons stay away from the elderly who are most effected by ALL flu’s and colds.

Well for one thing, and lets just compare the USA and South Korea as a demonstration.

Although the number of reported cases in South Korea is 4 times the USA, (1) it was in direct line (people to people exchanges) with China at the beginning (2) AND - the big AND, it’s level of testing has been massive compared to the USA. Little South Korea has performed 210,000 Cov-19 tests. The US has performed about 8,500.

More testing equals more identified cases; and even if a case’s symptoms and response to Cov-19 is mild, it’s identified. If the USA was doing testing of the US population, in proportion to the testing being done in Korea, I imagine the US reported case numbers would be higher than they are.

Because my emphasis is that when you remove those three countries you will see you have a better chance of getting his by a car speeding down your back alley than from this so-called pandemic.

Unacceptable response, because every year billions of people worldwide NEVER get tested for anything. We know we are sick, and we stay home.

So your excuse is miserable.

Why the hell would you want everyone tested?

When was the last time you went to the Dr because you felt ill?

What the doctors are most worried about is that a high number of older people who get this virus require hospitalization. And that there will be a surge of cases that overwhelm the system. That’s why doctors are panicking over this.

So their solution right now is to slow the spread by any means necessary so that the system won’t be flooded.

China is getting over it and there is no chance there will be half a million deaths there. There might not even be 22,000 deaths there, which was the number of deaths from the regular flu this year.

And, none of that is happening in China, it's not happening here.

Can you be arrested for creating a fake pandemic. If so, almost everyone in media (with the exception of Rush and Hannity among a few others) should be contacting their lawyers.

I would like to see a chart showing the age ranges of the deaths. Sounds like mostly the infirm and elderly are those who are dying from this.

And, you realize the death rate in confirmed cased in South Korea is 0.7 percent? And, that means the actual death rate might not be any greater than the regular flu.

In fact, in this country, there were 222,000 confirmed flu cases and 22,000 deaths this flu season. That is higher death rate than the Corona death rate in South Korea.

“Why the hell would you want everyone tested?”

You are SO off base. I never suggested everyone get tested.

The comments were about the numbers of Cov-19 cases, by country, and how, factually, how widely testing is done is a condition that contributes to how many positive cases are identified. The Koreans are testing thousands of people who do not show symptoms, and finding among them people have contracted the Cov-19 bug. The U.S. is only testing cases doctors & hospitals have first deemed suspect. THAT difference is PART of why the U.S. reported cases are smaller than South Koreas.

If you want to take those facts as a contention or recommendation that everyone in the U.S. be testing, then you have a problem, a problem of reading whatever you want into something.

Sounds a lot like me. I remember the media hammering Bush one year for not having enough flu vaccine so the following winter saw so much overstock that the "free flu shot" phenomena was born. Of course, the free shot could do nothing about *that winter's* epidemic, just the previous year's one.

I got a call from my doctor's office telling me to come in for my flu shot. I told them I would not. They tried to argue with me. They said I was part of their high-risk categories. I asked them if they'd given shots to all the elderly and children patients. The nurse said no.

I said, "well, don't call me back until you do" and I hung up. So another nurse called five minutes later and I gave her the same advice.

The one time I gave in and got the shot, I was sick as a dog for a week.

“And, you realize the death rate in confirmed cased in South Korea is 0.7 percent? And, that means the actual death rate might not be any greater than the regular flu.”

Of course that is true. And it has nothing to do with the facts of why the statistics for a small country like South Korea show a greater percentage of identified cases than the US. Those results have less to do with proportionately, one country or the other, in reality, has more Cov-19 cases than the other. The smaller country has IDENTIFIED more cases, POSSIBLY because their testing of people has been done on a much larger percentage of their population than has taken place in the larger country. There can be other factors, but the difference in the level of testing cannot be dismissed as unimportant.

None of this difference has anything to do with any medical advice of what any person should do. This all has to with the numbers, and why they look so lopsided in some cases.
