So you made a mistake, or the other person defrauded you.

One of my old housemates back in the school days came home to his place (this was why he was renting a room) and found his wife in his bed with another guy. He had a gun (thought it was some type of robbery going on) and he hesitated and thought “it’s just not worth it” and holstered it and walked out.
He subsequently lost everything he’d ever worked for with the divorce judge stating “Your soon to be ex is stupid and what she’s getting here is probably all she will ever have, you’ll be able to earn it back...”
The guy was salt of the earth good guy level. I have always hoped the Lord kept a soft spot for him and he’s prospered.
