It is difficult to assume that a particular judge is the desired chosen appointee or one that was part of a larger deal to get other judges appointed.
No the headlines was quite misleading.
I automatically assumed it was a dem appointment.
And no matter who you pick, you can’t pick how they’re gonna thin the rest of their lives.
You just pick who’s the best right now
For isntance, I don't think anyone saw Roberts coming.
It's a fact that Bush appointed him, but then again that was based off
recommendations I'm sure.
I agree.
The Encyclopedia Britanica refers to her this way:
A moderate conservative, she was known for her dispassionate and
meticulously researched opinions.

> “If his ruling stands, it would establish a favorable precedent for future White House efforts to avoid congressional oversight.”
This Hill writer Kruzel assumes the typical DC Swamp position of having one’s head up one’s *ss.
McGahn, just as any White House Attorney, serves at the pleasure of the President and is in effect eyes, ears, and an extension of the President. Therefore, compelling him to come forward and be subjected to a grilling before Congress is in effect compelling an extension, a surrogate, a defacto presence by the President to be subjected to a grilling by Congress.
This is not oversight, this is an intrusion. It is no different than Schumer calling in a clerk of Kavanaugh or Gorsuch and grilling them on deliberations witnessed in addressing controversial opinions.
So the Hill’s B-writer twists it wrong when he writes that the retiring judge’s opinion allows future White House efforts to avoid congressional oversight. It avoids unacceptable intrusion and upholds separation of powers regardless of who occupies the White House.
I don’t know much about her record to be honest.
She was widely seen as stridently Leftist in her rulings.
Nominate replacement today, approve them next week!

I literally crafted that post from the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit Wikipedia webpage.
A good 45 minutes, it took me, so I remember.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Neomi Rao ends up being one of the leading candidates for the next SCOTUS vacancy.
