Mandelman bringing bathhouses back to The City (of San Francisco). New ordinance would amend health code restrictions imposed in 1980s

Largely banished since the outbreak of the AIDS epidemic in the 1980s, gay bathhouses could return to San Francisco under new legislation introduced to the Board of Supervisors.

District 8 Supervisor Rafael Mandelman, who represents the Castro neighborhood, introduced an ordinance Tuesday calling for the Department of Public Health to amend city standards established in the 1980s for adult sex venues that effectively shut down gay bathhouses.

Mandelman said bathhouses were once the focal point of the gay community and health care advancements to help prevent the transmission of HIV has made the standards outdated.

“In many ways they symbolized the newfound freedom to live out, proud and happy that gay men from previous generations could never experience,” Mandelman said. “Our current regulations for adult sex venues were put in place as an emergency measure at the height of the AIDS crisis, when San Francisco was desperate to slow the spread of HIV/AIDS.”

The proposed legislation was first reported by The Bay Area Reporter.

Gay bathhouses were shuttered during the HIV/AIDS epidemic, after The City cited them as a public health nuisance in 1984. A court order allowed the businesses to remain open, but only under strict standards that required the use of safe sex “monitors” and door modifications for individual cubicles, rooms or booths to prevent private interactions.

The court order remained in place, and in 1997 the Department of Public Health adopted minimum standards that included staff monitoring and prohibited sex clubs and venues from having doors that patrons could lock.

However, the rules may not have worked as officials hoped.

“There is no evidence showing that the monitoring of patrons at commercial venues that allow people to engage in sexual activity results in safer sex.

Wikipedia:"Mandelman came out as gay while at Yale." Another Ivy League queer, like Buttigieg.

If this goes ahead and AIDS cases spike, it will be Trump's fault, just as it was Reagan's fault in the 1990s that so many homosexuals buggered themselves to death /s. It appears that many men whose "lifestyle" means they will never marry (fake marriages excluded) and have children harbor a death wish.

It is as though city leaders WANT diseases to spread like wildfire in san Francisco.

Why would you even WANT to visit SF at this point? What’s the draw? The tent cities? The discarded needles? No wait, I know. It must be the human feces and urine everywhere, and the exhilaration you feel knowing that property crimes won’t be prosecuted.

At least the homeless will have a place to wash up before their next job interview.

I want the unlimited trips to stores to take $999.99 worth of inventory. I might be able to afford the excise tax when I return to Canada.

From the frying pan into the fire. These blind fools never cease to find new ways to encourage evil. Romans 1:18-32.

18 The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness,

19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them.

20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.

22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools

23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles.

24 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another.

25 They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.

26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones.

27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.

28 Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done.

29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips,

30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents;

31 they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy.

32 Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

When I first started selling insurance in the San Francisco Bay area in the 80s I made home visits to people who sent in cards saying they were interested in certain types of insurance. One such insurance policy that we had was special hospital coverage.
I called on a nurse who was a gorgeous male and very friendly. He told me he knew he was going to get AIDS because he had spent years crawling around on his hands and knees in the bathhouses. I was shocked at the image. I guess it’s like a train and all these guys attached to each other, and no one knew each other.
Then I knew where AIDS came from.
Reopening the bathhouses is not in anyone’s health interest.

Was your insurance company allowed to exclude people with such obvious risk factors?

The abundant AIDS cases of the ‘80s were what started all the BS we’re going through now with the LGBQTMOUSE freaks. Remember, the gay marriage crap got into full swing because poofters couldn’t visit their stricken partners in ICUs because the rules said, “family only”....so our Alpha-Hotel politicians and judges from the planet Mongo made them “family”. After that, the slippery slope’s been steeper and steeper.

I guess in a way one could say that the AIDS “epidemic” at the end of the last century was quite beneficial to those of the alphabet persuasion.

Anyone remember this?

Back in the late 1970s or early 1980s there was a massive fire in SF which took out several blocks, and required several different fire departments to fight.

Suddenly the story died. From what I later heard, along with others, was the first fire crews found “dungeons” with young men chained to the walls, and more fire departments with chain cutting equipment had to be called.

So, the faggots will now spread more of their diseases, to add to the hepatitis all the crapping in the street causes.

Should have just let the deviants die off from their AIDS they love so much that some actively seek to get infected.

This is why I find it impossible to have sympathy for people who contract AIDS/HIV in this manner. The disease has been on the public scene for forty years. Everyone knows how it is transmitted, and yet people do it anyway. There were even people, referred to as “bug chasers” who wanted to get it. So on went the transmission of the disease, along with other loathsome ailments transmitted by the same practices.

Let them do what they want, though. They will anyway. But there should be zero federal dollars for any more HIV research or prevention. Places such as San Francisco that facilitate, even welcome, the problem, should also be willing to pick up the tab.

I recall reading the original Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Reports issued by the CDC in 1980 concerning the “gay men’s disease” before the AIDS virus had been identified and civil rights were bestowed upon it. These reports were unredacted and had not been sanitized by political correctness. They included detailed sexual histories of some of the “victims” who frequented gay bath houses in NYC, SF, and LA. To summarize, it was not unusual for these wholesome fellows to have sex with 60-80 “partners” each night, mostly on the receiving “end” of course. The depravity of this was absolutely shocking to my then-young mind. If they bring these bath houses back it will be equally shocking to my now-old mind. What kind of sick bastard would even consider this? Oh, wait, we’re talking a San Fransicko politician. Never mind.

If I’m not mistaken, SNL allowed the new Asian gay guy to refer to “training” (implying this definition of it) on the show, with zero consequences.
Typical woke network.
