Dividing dead by infected during the rapid spread of the disease isn’t meaningful.
Here’s an example of how silly using the numbers that way is.
If you were to replace “Coronavirus” with “Ricin”, and inject 100 people with a dose which would kill 100% in a week, then every day double the number of people you give the injection, using your method, after one week you would have a fatality/injection ratio of 0.78% (100/12,700), for a 100% fatal toxin. Obviously, that is a ridiculous methodology.

Does that mean that in South Korea that there is only a 0.73% recovery rate?
How about the US, where as of today we have 8 recovered out of 153 reported cases? Is that a 5.2% recovery rate?
Right now, by the methods your source is using there is a 0% recovery rate in NYC and adjacent Westchester County.
