The Manhattan lawyer hospitalized with coronavirus is in “severe condition,” the city Health Department said Tuesday evening.
The lawyer, identified by sources as Lawrence Garbuz, 50, runs a boutique law firm with his wife that also employs one of their four kids as a paralegal, according to information posted online.
The seven-lawyer practice, Lewis & Garbuz, is located across the street from Grand Central Terminal and specializes in matters including personal planning and wealth management, estate litigation, guardianships and elder law, its website says.
Garbuz and his wife, also 50, both graduated from New York University and earned law degrees from Yeshiva University’s Cardozo School of Law before marrying in 1995, according to a wedding announcement published in the New York Times.
Their firm, founded in 2001, is located across 42nd Street from Grand Central Terminal, and Garbuz reportedly commuted there on the Metro-North Railroad from their family home in New Rochelle.

You can’t even get details of where a person has been/shopped/lodged or have been treated, on the rest of these cases...and, this guy’s entire bio is laid out.
That’s the way it used to be with communicable diseases prior to HIPPA...and it’s long overdue to return to what worked for past generations.
It is weird, like HIPAA Laws don’t exist in NY.
The San Antonio health department won’t give ANY details on the infected person they ‘accidentally’ released...who took taxis, stayed in a hotel, went shopping, out to dinner, etc.
Who is s/he? Where did w/he stay? Eat?
Same with all of the other infected people.

Yet, this poor guy has ALL of his info splashed on the pages of NY Post...for the world to know.

Precisely! This article goes on and on about his shenanigans at law school, that he employs his kids as part-time help, etc. - but nothing about the fact that, e.g., he only recently returned from a trip to China, or that most of his clients are Chinese, etc.

The cynical side of me is wondering if someone at the law firm is using this as free publicity.
We’re going to hit a tipping point soon where identifying contacts won’t work. Too many people ride a subway for this approach to work much longer.
We need to move on to the next logical step - then the one after that... and start implementing it. We don’t have forever...
the temple he attends is orthodox so yes most likely he is Republican as orthodox Jews are overwhelmingly Republican prayers for this man and his family
