ts finally happening! Nearly three years after the student revolt which became national news, Evergreen State College president George Bridges has announced his intention to return to teaching and hand the office of president to his successor. But true to form, Evergreens announcement of the decision said nothing about the reasons he is leaving. In fact, the Board of Trustees had nothing but praise for Bridges:
Bridges, who came to Evergreen after serving as president of Whitman College in Eastern Washington, recently informed the board of his decision to retire as president and return to teaching, according to the news releaseGeorge has led Evergreen in making important advances in our academic programs and support for students, including significant fundraising for scholarships. He has helped create a more equitable and inclusive campus and laid the foundation for a major fundraising campaign. And he has done so while guiding the college through many challenges, with wisdom and compassion, said Fraser.
Sweet merciful crap, what a load of horse hockey that is.
I remember Evergreen. A parent must really hate their child in order to send them there.
Leftists destroy everything they touch.
JoMa
Maybe they can recruit Bernie Sanders’ wife to take over.
Hope the guy learns to code!
Evergreen and the like aren’t really real colleges, but parking spots for rich loser kids who can’t (or won’t) get into a real college and wouldn’t be caught dead in a community college learning useful and valuable skills ...
btw, enrollment in Evergreen has been on a long-term downhill slide, sinking by 40% in the last ten years:

No one has ever proven the case of ‘rich-kids’ being the chief candidate attending Evergreen. Most of the interviews that I’ve seen....suggest that around two decades ago, they went to candidates who were ‘junior’ social justice warriors.
Part of this blame (if you can call it that)...was that it was located five miles from the heart of Olympia. Most people from the state will say that in the 1960s...Olympia was a magnet for hippies, free-love agendas, and far-left topics. They took up responsible positions in the community and promoted the college as a agent of ‘change’.
At the state level, most are in favor of either dumping the college entirely (if the students numbers don’t go back up), and then selling the property to some private college. Personally, I can see anyone offering much to develop this as a private college. The better plan would be to shut it down, and convert over to some two-year occupational college.
As most point out....those who graduated in the 1970s and 1980s....are stuck now with a degree which is worthless to advertise on their resume. They’d like to find a way to bring the school back to some neutral position.
So true. It follows then that Leftists must be scorned, derided, and opposed at every turn and that one must flee where they have taken complete control.
Yeah, that'll happen.
Is this really good news? The perp will be teaching kids directly, instead of indirectly.
If he turns up at Oberlin it will be no more than they deserve.
Virtually no other “college” in America is more deserving of being nuked to a sheet of glass than Evergreen.
You lost me at “equitable and inclusive,” obvious buzzwords.
Go, Geoducks go,
Through the mud and the sand,
let’s go.
Siphon high, squirt it out,
swivel all about,
let it all hang out.
Go, Geoducks go,
Strech your necks when the tide
is low
Siphon high, squirt it out,
swivel all about,
let it all hang out.
