Each one is processing over 100 bodies per day

```````
Other reports put that number at 270+ bodies per day
The “industrial incinerators” should read industrial furnaces which are rated with high enough temps to burn bodies 1800C; incinerators are more or less used to burn items that need lower temps to fo the job, like paper for one.
Number of dead in Wuhan area just prior to 2 weeks ago was around 100,000 - others put that at 200,000 dead.
Those numbers are more in line with the use of 49 then 89 burners for over a month - month and a half.
Many of the crematoriums likely broke down or needed other maintenance and had to be taken off line which allowed even more bodies to pile up (also collection drivers were scarce).
It was looking bad here for the CCP and Xi (panda face) Jinping whose political security was threatened. To that end factories were ordered to run even if no workers, because the power draw can be used in calculating their GDP - however erroneously.
There are indications that China’s military forces are also hard hit. Originally when the virus hit, the PLA was sent in to contain things, since they did have the resources to handle it - L4 hazmat suits etc. But they were withdrawn and replaced with civilian “security “ forces - expendable. The PLAN lost the crew of 548 frigate - one of the newer ships in its class.
My calculations agree with the 200,000 number, but I am being conservative in the numbers I state as I am willing to defend them.
But it is Wuhan - they locked everybody in, millions of people, with a disease that is highly contagious. The medical infrastructure collapsed, so the 2% CFR went to 15% and everybody that had other medical issues also didn’t get treatment.
Other places that have been able to focus more resources on fewer cases are doing much better in terms of absolute numbers, but it is early, and we don’t have a handle on this thing anywhere, yet.
Don’t trust the numbers from anywhere in China, from Iran, and don’t trust the absence of reports from places that always have high levels of disease but for some reason aren’t reporting CV cases at all. They can’t test and likely can’t see the problem, yet.
The medical infrastructure in Lombardy is reported to be saturated - what happens there is going to be indicative of whether we are fighting brushfires or a conflagration.
Containment will still slow this down and save lives. I think we should have closed the southern border a month ago, but that would have caused a political firestorm and been unsustainable due to lawfare. We should do it now with troops and drones.
