Today I ran out to drop off my rent check, mail a Netflix DVD, and stopped at McDonald’s to get a breakfast sandwich and some coffee. I went inside instead of going through the drive-thru. The young kid who waited on me must have been new, because he had to ask somebody if they served hash browns during the day. I told him that they better have hash browns because I didn’t want to have to call 911 about it.
At least he got the joke.

1. Yes, he got the joke
2. He had a sense of humor.
3. He had a JOB!
4. When he didn't know something...HE ASKED ABOUT IT!!

Sign him up for COLLEGE. He has....a brain!

Actually, he sounds a lot smarter than many his age. McDonald’s pays $2500.00 a year toward college tuition for anyone who works at least 15 hours a week. Working two years while going to a $4500.00 per year community college and then a 9K per year state school would result in the average middle class kid maybe having to take out 10K total in loans to cover the difference between the McDonald’s scholarship and the money they earn at McDonald’s and other part-time jobs.

It would be easy to wrack up 15 hours a week at a flexible schedule, particularly if one is willing to do the morning rush a couple of times a week and some late nights.
