Big deal. The (last) dean at my law school was even more qualified. She was a black lesbian woman. So she is a threefer in terms of qualifications, not just a twofer. And of course a professor of feminist law.
As long as she was selected on the basis of merit and not race, I’m OK with her.
I’m guessing there probably are other people that are more qualified that would like the job. But hey, what do I know or care. LOL.

But really, what accomplished business person would want to serve in this position except at the end of their real career? It would be a step down as you would have to put up with all the PC nonsense infecting today’s academia.
I think it was an undergraduate degree business.
The choice of this dean will primarily effect its MBA program which for better or worse it (and Harvard and a few others!) set the standard for MBA programs elsewhere.
Its hard to see how a PhD in Psychology unless matched with oodles of business experience adds to their program.
if I remember correctly Wharton was know for its finance program, so a biz program that works with numbers, numbers and more numbers! She’s probably there to bring in feelings into the program. Let’s all sing that song...Feelings .. nothing more then feelings...
The basic issue is if you are a white man, you can pretty much forget getting anywhere in academia. In all the promotional material for my law school (I won’t tell you what it is, but it is near the top in the pecking order) they are so politically correct that it extends to the photos they use. In the photos all the students pictured have to be “people of color,” first generation immigrants, or obviously gay (they had one pajama boy “transgender” in a dress in something they recently sent out which was particularly humurous because he/she/it still had a beard). But you won’t see a heterosexual white male anywhere. It’s pretty clear who is not welcome there.

I don’t really know anything about it. When I was in law school almost 40 years ago they still taught real law, instead of nonsense grievance justice.
