Pope Francis has been forced to cancel a planned Mass in Rome with other clergy after suffering a 'slight illness'.

The Vatican said the 83-year-old pontiff had a 'slight indisposition' that meant he did not attend an event at the St John Lateran basilica in Rome on Thursday morning.

A spokesman said Francis would continue with the rest of his day's business, but preferred to stay within the Vatican rather than travel across the city.

There was no word from the Vatican about the nature of his illness, but the pope was seen coughing and blowing his nose during the Ash Wednesday Mass.

Here’s hoping that ‘slight indisposition’ was an arrest warrant. Begone, heretic!

Did this foolish socialist Pope get himself infected? Perhaps the Catholic church will soon be able to replace him with someone more suitable.

We may get a new pope sooner than anyone had any reason to hope for.

You’re not supposed to wish for the death of another, so I’d settle for something forcing his retirement...

BTW, he has only one lung. But he’s tough, Satan looks after his own.

If he shook hands with the Iranian ambassador to the Vatican (who just died from the coronvirus)....

I wonder if the Vatican will tell the truth if the Pope dies...

The man who died was Iranian Ambassador to the Vatican about 16 years ago. They probably did not shake hands recently.

I thought that the incubation period was about 24 days.

I've seen various numbers from 14 up to 38. All we do know is this thing is D@mned infectious and is capable of lingering in an unsuspecting host for weeks and weeks.

I think we may see a shutdown of all schools in the US, and perhaps other containment procedures.

1-24 days, even longer. Some people have it and never show symptoms.
