Hundreds of members of Cherokee Nation have signed a letter that demands Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., "fully address" her lifelong claims to be Native American.
"You have yet to fully address the harm you have caused. While your apologies are a step in the right direction, they have been vague and inadequate. Accountability is not just admitting you made a mistake, but working to correct the harm it caused. A recent collective statement by Cherokee scholars makes clear that any person who publicly identifies as Cherokee has initiated an open discussion about their identity. As a Harvard professor and U.S. senator, you have the unique opportunity to turn this controversy into a needed learning moment," the letter says.
"We call on you to make a clear public statement," the letter explains, that includes that her "family story" of Cherokee ancestry is wrong, Native American identity is more than "race and biology," and "claiming Native identity without citizenship, kinship ties, or recognition from Native communities undermines Indigenous self determination."

Someone should tweet this to faux-uh-hauntus. I mean she profited $400K/yr to teach a single class base on her “misrepresenting” herself. And lying on the BAR application in Texas should bear some consequence.

Just noticed at the end of the video the guy that put it together used the crying Sicilian indian as the lead out. Did the ad agency ever apologize for that to the ‘native Americans’? LOL!

She has not caused harm with her heritage BS other than to her own credibility and perhaps to one actual Indian or other minority applicant who might have got the diversity slot she claimed.

They need to call Ward Churchill out for an accounting as well. While he didn’t carry his fraud as high as public office, he certainly used it to feather his nest for a long time in academia.
