You know I was wondering why they done use the wire guided systems for this. The equipment has been around for years. Embed the track line down the center of the lane the cars guide off that. Millions are being spent on this sort of tech when there are simple solutions that could be used today. Maybe its just me bucking the system but autonomous solutions are not ready for prime time and neither are we.
The problem with automated vehicles is that they are MORE expensive, aren't any faster than a regular car, and may ultimately achieve their safety improvements by operating slower than a conventional motor vehicle.
I've been saying for years that automated vehicles are a solution looking for a problem ... and I work professionally in an industry where I have to deal with this all the time.
