Yes. My thought exactly.
3 billion infected within this year.
It tells me this expert is insane.
No one can be that stupid.
I remember when they said AIDS would decimate entire generations.
The message of the article is, it's not like SARs or HIV in it's transmissibility
The deadliest snake in the world, only kills 10% of it's victims - but because it's so aggressive, it's the deadliest.
He's talking nonsense.
According to the WHO, 32 million people have died of HIV since the beginning of the epidemic out of the 74.9 million who have been infected (roughly 43 percent).
37.9 million people are living with it today. Many of them will likely succumb to Corona.
This is not a drill. These things happen every hundred or so years... the last time was in 1917 - the Spanish Flu which killed more people than were killed in World War I.
Normalcy bias is why we cannot believe that this can actually happen, but it's coming.

LOL. Get back to me in six months.
“I remember when they said AIDS would decimate entire generations.”
I NEVER believed that and got nasty responses when I said as much (in the early 90s). It was TOTAL BULL SHIITE, designed to get the normal community to blow off trying to figure out other viruses and cancer...and it worked.
The reason I never believed it was that the vast majority of men don’t go exchanging bodily fluids with other men, nor was blood transfusions a significant concern (by then), as they had screening and testing in place.
Early on, yes, there were a lot of questions early on...but pretty much the only people with AIDS were the ‘bathhouse types’ and hemophiliacs...virtually no one else.
With this...spend 15 minutes in a taxi with a vector and you may well get it. And LOTS of people do things like that.
It has.
Just in Africa.
