In 1969, just a few years before Bernie Sanders first sought public office, he penned a number of columns on a variety of topics: sexuality -- including violent rape fantasies and the sexual development of children -- emotional links to cancer, foreign relations and the failures of traditional education.
He rails against "conservative" education -- what he viewed as an ineffective and soulless learning environment where children must "sit still for 7 hours a day ... and raise their hands when they have to go to the bathroom."
It was a theme he returned to repeatedly that year, denouncing authoritarian teaching styles. Often "a child has an old bitch of a teacher (and there are many of them) or pehaps (sic) he simply is not interested in school and would rather be doing other thing (sic)," Sanders wrote in his column, "Cancer, Disease and Society," for an alternative publication called The Vermont Freeman.

Often "a child has an old bitch of a teacher (and there are many of them) . .
Most people applaud teachers. Bernie calls them 'old bitches'.
The old bolshevik writing for a publication called “The Vermont Freeman.”
That’s rich.
What is Sanders real name? He’s just a garden variety New York red diaper baby with communist parents from Eastern Europe or Russia.
“Old bitch teachers” He had Elizabeth Warren in mind.
Pee on the blackboard and poop on the desk? Do they need to ask permission?
I can’t find it.
This is one sick man. He used women to support him until he got his first job, as mayor, at age 50. Man, I hope he wins the Democrat nomination.
I found this on IMDb
“Son of Dorothy “Dora” (Glassberg) and Elias Ben Yehuda Sanders. His father was a Polish Jewish immigrant who’s family died in the Holocaust. He moved to the U.S. from Slopnice, Poland in 1921. Bernie’s mother was born in New York, to Russian Jewish parents.”
I remember one of those “old bitch” teachers.
She was one the best teachers I ever had.
I was in a small elementary school with around 100 students, and the class rooms shared two grades.
Mrs. Maleng was my second and third grade teacher, and she taught me to read (for real) and my multiplication tables up to 12X12.
I remember she was 62 at the time and retired shortly after, and had been teaching for forty years.
She taught me that learning was a job with responsibilities and consequences for failure, i.e. she set me on the path to adulthood.
We need more old bitches in school today.
CNN? The “progressives” must really be fouling their drawers about Sanders to be bringing this up. Isn’t Sanders the logical conclusion of their vision for America?
Btt
His origins are his parents
Bernie Sanders is a longtime member of the Clubber Victory Affiliation, a secretive group based out of Vermont that believes Clubber Lang should have prevailed over Rocky in classic Sylvester Stallone boxing epic Rocky III. The CVA has to date self-financed and produced four unlicensed sequels starring the Lang character, and rumor has it that Sanders performance as Mickey, who in this alternate series has abandoned Rocky to train Lang, is terrible.
“....We need more old bitches in school today....”
Without a doubt.
Mine was just exactly the same as you described. Her name was Mrs. Marston. Whadda old bid-die that woman was. Strict, hard as nails, wouldn’t think twice about rapping your knuckles with a ruler, etc. It was yes ma’am, no ma’am and spoken ONLY when spoken to. But when you moved on up to the next grade, you knew how to spell, read, write in both print & cursor and knew the multiplication tables. IF you didn’t, you didn’t move up to the next grade, and you were stuck with Mrs. Marston for another year. That, in and of itself, was more than enough motivation for me to make sure I moved on up. Yeah, she was tough old bird, but she was trying to prepare us for a tough old world. Looking back on her now, she was one of the best teachers I ever had, even though at the time, I lived in dire fear of her when I was in her classes.
You know what?
Even as a little kid, tough as nails as she was, I could tell she loved her students and wanted what was best for them.
In his early 20s, Sanders ...joined the Young People's Socialist League, the youth wing of the Socialist Party USA...
n 1985, he traveled to Nicaragua to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the Marxist Sandinista regime.. In 1989, he and Jane traveled to Cuba on a research trip..
Now when Sanders talks about a revolt it's a "political revolution," tempered by years in politics..It's a much different movement than the one he proselytized about in the 1970s in The Freeman, essentially a cultural revolution, a rejection of accepted social norms that he predicted would sweep the country.https://www.cnn.com/2016/02/29/politics/bernie-sanders-own-words/index.html
Sound more akin to angry wannabe 3rd world oligarch.
With modifications, influenced by his dad.
And see A documentary that Bernie Sanders made about a socialist politician 36 years ago says a lot about his politics today. his only film a biographical portrait of Eugene Victor Debs and an endorsement of his socialist politics reveals a lot about Sanders' politics today.
A portrait of Debs, to this day, hangs on Sanders office wall....Like Sanders and Ocasio-Cortez, his platform focused on social inequalities, including income inequality...
Although Sanders had referenced him in the past we did not hear much about Debs from Bernie during his historic run for the 2016 Democratic nomination. But Sanders returned repeatedly to Debss central message: the need to combat the catastrophically increasing inequality, created by the power of the corporations and their control over the state. https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2019/mar/23/american-socialism-bernie-sanders-eugene-debs
I don’t know, I had some old bitch teachers and I HATED asking for permission to go remove urine from my bladder, during class is one thing but until I had a “cool” teacher in 8th grade you had to ask to go even between classes, give me a break.
School felt like a massive waste of time to me, I learned very little. If my grandma hadn’t taught me to read before I got there I think I might still be illiterate to this day.
Seems to me like it could be done better than “quasi-prison setting”. And what’s the deal with “homework” you are there all day and then you are supposed to come home and spent another 2 hours (+?) on that? When are kids supposed to have time to be kids?
