A temporary hire under the Vacancies Act would have to be someone who had previously worked in a post that required Senate confirmation. That seriously limits options for the President, and can only be a temporary appointment anyway.
Face it, folks ... William Barr is likely to be the best AG you're ever going to see in a Trump administration.
I have defended President Trump and his Twitter use for years now ... but when it comes to active DOJ cases he really needs to grow up and shut the f#&% up.

I agree; Trump needs to stop the tweets or he may lose. People do not like chaos, and constant personnel turnover is a sign of it. Barr hasn’t been perfect, far from it, but he has made the right people mad and for good reason. He cannot operate with the constant undercutting this tweeting is doing; why Trump needs to do this when he has moved into a strong position post-impeachment is beyond me. Its almost like he’s trying to lose.
I tend to believe the rumor that Barr was the Bushes’ enforcer pick they made Trump put in as part of the truce they struck after Poppy’s death.
An issue is that Mitch wouldn’t have the Senate approve anyone but a swamper.
And Barr is doing more to cover up than illuminate.
It’s a shame Trump made so many bad picks from the start of his admin, as he’s not got much to go to there.
