Michael Bloomberg’s campaign has leaked to the Drudge Report that Bloomberg is considering asking Hillary Clinton to be his running mate. This story doesn’t have much significance, on its face; the fact that a candidate is “considering” something isn’t exactly news. But it does reflect a few things:
1) I take it that Bloomberg is trying to beef up his bona fides as a “real” Democrat. It isn’t going to work: Democratic voters are not going to turn out for someone who endorsed George W. Bush in 2004 and enthusiastically advocated stop and frisk, among other heresies.
2) The Democrats still don’t seem to understand what a terrible candidate Clinton was in 2016. She was unlikable, she had nothing new to offer on the issues, and she was not physically up to the rigors of a campaign. And now she is four years older. A Bloomberg/Clinton ticket would average over 75 years old on Election Day, 79 at the end of a hypothetical first term. Not gonna happen.
3) Since when do Democrats leak to the Drudge Report? Since Matt went over to the dark side, or sold his site, or something. But Drudge’s traffic is cratering because of the site’s ideological turn to the left.

This has to be a fake leak. Hillary brings nothing to Bloomberg. They are both elite who favor the Wall Street democrats over the average democrat. He must have a black VP candidate in order to shore up the black vote and stop them from defecting to Trump. Stacey Addams will probably be the VP pick of any democrat nominee.
I don’t know what to make of Bloomberg’s candidacy yet. His spending is unprecedented. His coalition would be Democrats who want to beat Trump above everything, plus suburban moderates who have Trump fatigue but want to protect their 401ks.
Most of the time when you hear about something like this it's not going to happen, but picking Hillary would win Bloomberg delegates and Democratic voters. The big question (if it happens) is whether she would be as big a turn-off for voters as she was in 2016. If you want to know whether it will happen, try to come up with a running-mate who would be substantially better for Bloomberg.

IMHO, his ads (at least those I have seen) appear ineffective. He has switched from party to party and presented no strong case why he should be POTUS. I can understand why he has avoided debates and campaigning: the more people see of him, the less they will like him.

Bloomberg is a placeholder. Question is, “for whom?”
You can bet the Bloomies will be bloviating “but-but Hillary won the popular vote.”
Problem with that is, can he sell HIMSELF on the ticket with HER— to the illegals, the vagina voters, the uber-gays and the hate-the-rich PC crowd in San Francisco & L.A.?

Hillary. If she’s on the ticket for VP and Bloomie wins, Bloomie will have an unfortunate accident within days of his inauguration.
Never say never. If I had a nickel for every “Trump will never be President” I’d be as rich as Bloomberg.
My biggest fear about the rumor that Bloomberg is seriously considering Hillary for VP running mate is that it is only a rumor.
I tend to think it is just someone stirring up s**t.
I would love for him to pick her for VP running mate. It would be highly entertaining. I think there are so many Demoncrats that want to be rid of her—combined with die-hard Sanders supporters and budding Klobuchar stalwarts who would find it grossly unfair that a woman who actually ran and won delegates was not picked—that a Bloomberg-Clinton ticket has no chance.
I do not think Bloomberg has to fear Arkancide. He can hire an army of bodyguards. Moreover, his own media company would report on the suspicious nature of his death and the deaths surrounding other Clinton associates were he to not hang himself.
As I noted on another thread, she will be able to roll him in a 5x7 instead of having to use an 8x12.
