Moved to California in 1970, have mostly lived here ever since, and watched the state decline over that time, thanks to ever-increasing left liberal domination. California is an object lesson to every other state in the Union - do not try this at home!
“The most beautiful thing of all is that the population is 80% Republican!”
How do they feel about Pierre Delecto?
It isn't just California. When I lived in New Hampshire it was one of the most conservative states in the country. Then Massholes started moving there and ruined it. Even the Old Man in the Mountain couldn't stand it anymore and slid away.
Teed Off. . .
This writer is nuts, a wackjob worthy of Dur Sturhmer. He contradicts himself by blaming Trump for wanting to hurt the state re forest fires (Trump has nothing to do with them - its California’s own policies that cause them, besides the weather); pollute the air (he has nothing to do with that - look at CARB’s asinine policies, plus pine trees, smog, forest fires and no bush clearance policies; and re clean water, it’s their drug addicts, homeless crappers who pollute the storm drains and then the rivers and streams that go to the beaches/seas.
This writer Timothy needs a lesson in reality. Since he’s safely in DeCommio’s NY Shitty, he won’t catch anything from the drug addicts and derelicts who inhabit the “Streets of San Francisco”, LA, etc. Sounds like a nice little white elitist prick safely ensconced in someone’s basement or closet.
Well Timothy, with the new NY State/City “no bail and release” of dangerous criminals, your time may come, sooner than you thought. Maybe you will become the next Seth Rich on the streets of the Rotten Apple (I don’t care where you live, really. Just hoping it is in NYC and that you take the subway to work).
[[President Trump clearly hates the most populous state in the country he governs]]
California clearly hates all republicans- so yeah- what’s your point NYT?

Theyll take advantage of their early primary by voting for Bolshevik Bernie.
Thank you.
Is St. George still radioactive?
Worse than Mexico. At least in Mexico the cost of living is low.
Re: “People leaving the Golden State are changing the political makeup of the states they move to.”
That depends on the ethnicity of the people who moved.
In 2012, Mitt Romney got 54% of the white vote in California.
I will speculate that most of the people who moved out were white Republicans, and that very few white Republicans are moving in.
Only 36.8% of California residents are white.
The author is a typical liberal New York City slicker... has never been West of the Hudson and lectures the rest of the country.
Incredibly poisonous article. Surprising even for the notorious New York Times.
Please, God, put them out of business soon.
It’s both funny and sad that I instinctively recognize what “AMF” means! Ha!
“You don’t need papers”...
Good grief. TDS on steroids.
I grew up in California. Fled the state in 2002 for good, but daughter and grandkids still live there. We have a small place in Nevada, right across the border, where we can all meet. I refuse to move back until they get their heads out of their butts, and that wont happen in my lifetime.
“People leaving the Golden State are changing the political makeup of the states they move to.”
They can’t figure out why they want to leave?
“President Trump clearly hates the most populous state in the country he governs. While trashing California with his gutter mouth, the president has used his office to physically trash the home to nearly one in eight Americans seeking to make its air more polluted, its water less clean, its forests more vulnerable to catastrophic fires.”
He doesn’t trash the people in the state, he trashes the politicians run the state. Is Trump the one dumping feces and used needles on the sidewalk and turning the place over to hordes of homeless people?
“gutter mouth”??? Like calling the people of California traitors, Russian agents, pathological liars, racists, fascists, etc., etc.???
It must suck being him.
Every NY Times reporter is a gutter mouth.
And raising prices on the existing homes wherever they land.
Oh for the Moab of old!
