Two queer activists unhappy with Pete Buttigieg’s “middle of the road” politics were kicked out of his San Francisco fundraiser Friday after interrupting him on stage with shouted questions, a report said.
The protesters peppered Buttigieg with questions at San Francisco’s National LGBTQ Center for the Arts, immediately drawing boos from supporters of the former South Bend, Indiana mayor, according to The Guardian.
“I respect your activism, but this is a gathering for supporters of our campaign and I just got a question about my husband and I’m really excited to answer it,” Buttigieg said in response to the activists, the report said.
After the event, a Buttigieg supporter confronted the activists.
“You’re homophobes, that’s what you all are, you’re homophobes!” the supporter yelled.
“We’re all gay!” a protester responded.
Celi Tamayo-Lee, one of the activists booted from the event told The Guardian, “I’m definitely proud of the fact that a gay candidate has made it thus far.
“But it’s hard to enjoy or appreciate when his stances are so middle of the road and speak to a predominantly white, upper-class audience.”

It would be interesting to know just how many of his supporters know about his “wife.” Count on alphabet media to try to shame anybody who mentions that, if he gets as far as the nomination.

I think that this is what will ultimately sink him, along with the fact that he looks and acts like a kid. In the coming weeks that fact that he has a man as a spouse will have to seep through the electorate. As must as the media tries to ignore the fact that he is gay the more he has coverage the more it will become apparent. And if he was to win the nomination, the night when he comes out to accept and his “wife” being there and kissing him will do it. As much as the talking heads will put down people as “homophobic bigots” they still can’t follow in the voting booth. There will be millions like the one woman in Iowa who they have the video of first learning that he has a man for a wife and demanding her vote back.
While I think it is disgraceful that he has come as far as he has, I don’t believe he will win the nomination, much less the election. The leaders will settle on Bernie before that.
Not-gay-enough Pete will still get the vote of the anal dwellers.
