The D-J hit the news this morning that they will not induct McCabe....maybe not yet anyway????
Indict....Stoopid smell check.
Yeah, that's sad news. I"m not sure what to make of it. I would assume that there is a strong institutional bias against indicting the former head of the DoJ or FBI because it throws both organizations into disrepute. (Of course, for a lot of us, failing to indict them throws them into more disrepute).
But if, for instance, the head of the FBI is indicted then every criminal defense attorney who is defending someone arrested by the FBI will have a Q&A that sounds like this:
Agent Bluenose, who was your supervisor at that time? <> And, Agent Bluenose, who did your supervisor report to at that time?And who was the head of the FBI at that time?
Agent Bluenose, did you believe that the directions you received from the person you have testified was at the top of your chain of command were lawful?
Do you still feel that way in light of his conviction, Agent Bluenose?
They would very much like to avoid that.
