Federal prosecutors recommended on Thursday that former Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh be sentenced to nearly five years in prison.
Last fall, Pugh was indicted on federal charges of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, seven counts of wire fraud, conspiracy to defraud the United States, and two counts of tax evasion.
She indicted by a federal grand jury in connection with the “Healthy Holly” book controversy that began in May, at which time she resigned from office.
The statement of facts in the case stated how Pugh defrauded local businesses and nonprofit organizations out of nearly $800,000 through sales of the books to unlawfully enrich herself, promote her political career, and illegally fund her campaign for mayor, according to The Baltimore Sun.
Prosecutors also said Pugh had not disclosed her financial interests while in the Senate before becoming mayor, as required by Maryland law.
Pugh is set to be sentenced February 27th.

If her name was Roger Stone, she would be sentenced to life with no parole.

Only 5 years for a running fraud and stealing $800,000. And they want to give Roger Stone 7 to 9 years for the process crime of lying to Congress about a crime that was not a crime.
Lying to a bunch of lying Congressman in congress is a daily event to the point that they should leave the part out about telling the whole truth when a witness takes the oath

Exactly my thoughts - and why I opted to respond, before seeing you said it all.
She won’t do 5 months...if any time at all. Remember Mellowese Richardson? She was the Ohio nitwit who thought it was perfectly legal to vote for Obama 20 times. She was sentenced to 5 years and served 3 months. She got out and the dems threw her a big party and a hero’s welcome.
What not 7-9 years? She didn’t even get the FBI raid in the middle of the night.
