In an exclusive interview, Attorney General Bill Barr told ABC News on Thursday that President Donald Trump "has never asked me to do anything in a criminal case but should stop tweeting about the Justice Department because his tweets make it impossible for me to do my job.
Barrs comments are a rare break with a president who the attorney general has aligned himself with and fiercely defended. But it also puts Barr in line with many of Trumps supporters on Capitol Hill who say they support the president but wish hed cut back on his tweets.
I think its time to stop the tweeting about Department of Justice criminal cases, Barr told ABC News Chief Justice Correspondent Pierre Thomas.
When asked if he was prepared for the consequences of criticizing the president his boss Barr said of course because his job is to run the Justice Department and make decisions on what I think is the right thing to do.
Im not going to be bullied or influenced by anybody ... whether its Congress, a newspaper editorial board, or the president, Barr said.

Next he’ll be recusing himself.
I wish I were joking.
Blasts? Hyperbole much?
Optics.
Unrecused he doesn’t seem to be doing much about the crimes we all know about.
Already, FReepers are calling for his scalp.
All Barr is doing is throwing a wrench in the narrative that he's Trump's wingman or Svengali.
His job is to protect the Deep State, not prosecute it.
Barr knows Trump is going to explode when they let Humper off - and decline to Prosecute.
So Barr is human, putting it out there he doesn’t need the job and doesn’t want to be micro managed. So whats the point on going public other than letting everyone else know he needs to keep the appearance of political separation to function in the role correctly.
I’m not seeing any deep state goon getting tossed in jail. So until that happens Barr can shut his yap.

Now it looks like the fore person in the jury, in the Roger Stone case, had significant bias. Add that to everything else, and this is not looking good for the Justice Department.

Barr's "Justice" Dept (and yes, the President is correct to put it in quotes) is infested with Obama and Clinton rogues who are traitors, criminals, schemers, and villains.
The President, his family, and his associates have been put through Hell by this "Justice" Dept.
The President calls them out, and Bagpipes goes crying to some liberal reporter at ABC News?
I hope Barr and his sick sidekick Wray can cry on each other's shoulder now.
Actually, everybody is waiting for you to do your job Bagpipes. And nobody is going to be surprised when you dont.
Sounds very Clintonesque.
How about put the scope inside some of the criminals who orchestrated the spying operation on a US presidential candidate and continued it after he became their boss?!?!?!
.
This is Barr siding with Lindsey Graham and Senator Ron Johnson (WI)
Theyre not going to put the Country through a Prosecution of anyone named Biden.
Barr has left the fold and embraced the Establishment.
.
Actually, Mr. Barr, you have it exactly backwards. The President is making it impossible for you to NOT do your job! He is not going to sit by quietly while we all watch the Deep State escape justice! DO YOUR JOB! NOW!
Barr doesn’t care what Dems think. He knows they will hate him regardless. Barr’s public undermining of POTUS is down to internal DOJ and/or GOPe politics. I suspect both.
POTUS shining the bright light of sunlight on the cockroach coupists at the Main Justice building must have sent them into fainting spells. About time they feel some heat for their seditious activities these past 4 years.
All Barr is doing is throwing a wrench in the narrative that he’s Trump’s wingman or Svengali.
How so? Whatever Barr says Democrats won’t miss a beat on the impeach Barr hoax.
Agreed. Most people also dont seem to realize that Barr is going to have to testify next week before a House Judiciary Committee hearing led by Nadler.
Dont make his life any more difficult. Also, he probably spoke to Trump about this first, Trump has vented, called attention to the problem, and now he needs to let Barr handle it.
