Darn problem is, the novel doesn’t cover Fredo’s betrayal...or that whole never-go-fishing-alone-with-Al-Neri thing.

The “Fredo” reference is not because he “betrayed his brother,” it is because Fredo was a hopelessly dumb brother!

I don’t think many are that worried about Trump’s tweets. They may say so but that is just posturing. For one thing the gamemanship you listed is mechanical and predictable. A savvy enemy would just use it against Trump and they do regularly.
I think Trump does it just to rev up the base.

I SOOOOOO love this President.
In one statement, he’s telling Andrew not to make a spectacle of this thing, and insulting that putz brother of his, Fredo. He’s also demonstrating, once again, that he really doesn’t care if he hurts the feelings of those who come after him - that to him, that’s part of the can of whoopass that they decided to open up.

“The Fredo reference is a nod to The Godfather films and Trump is comparing Chris Cuomo a CNN anchor and the governors brother to a character in the film who ultimately betrays his brother. The reference was first made by a Trump supporter last summer in a viral video that saw the television journalist get irate with the man for the insult.”
The reference to Fredo isn’t about his betrayal, and EVERYONE knows it. It is about Fredo being too weak and too stupid to run the family. THAT is what set little Crissy off.
