Baylor, a private Christian university located in Waco, Texas, is known as the largest Baptist university in the world with approximately 17,200 students on its 1,000-acre campus and is affiliated with the Texas Baptist Convention, which is subsequently connected to the Southern Baptist Convention.
Reformation Charlotte previously reported that Cru (formerly Campus Crusade for Christ) had attempted to invite Native American new age occultist, Kaitlin Curtice to preach to the students. Fortunately, she was unable to make the appearance at the time. However, Cru leader, Matt Mikalatos had defended his invitation to her seemingly ecstatic that he was almost able to get her, along with a Roman Catholic priest, to speak at Cru events.
Curtice is described on her website as,
a young, Native American Christian mystic who portrays the sacredness of the human condition in everyday language through her writing. Curtice promotes the heresy of contemplation (contemplative prayer and meditation) and writes of her experiences with other realms of life,
By contemplation, I am basically referring to the work of creating and sustaining an inner life of peace, quiet, listening to the Divine/Mystery/Higher Power/God , and letting the overflow of that love stretch into other realms of life.
She is a climate change activist who worships the creation over the creator,
Perhaps if we returned to loving the land, waters, and all beings that live and breathe around us, we might learn how to love our human relatives again. Nowhere in any of Curtices works or writings does she show one iota of understanding of the biblical gospel. Of course, we should not expect a Catholic to understand the gospel as the Catholic Churchs gospel is false. Yet, even in the spiritual blindness of the Roman Catholic Church, many Catholics still have a good grasp on general revelation, morality, and general common sense. This common grace is a gift from God to all creation not just Christians. Yet, Curtice has not only suppressed the truth of the cross, but the truth of God and his revelation altogether.
This week, Curtice is making the news again as she was recently invited to speak at Baylor University and conservative students at the school were upset that she a new age mystic prayed to a false god as she preached during chapel service. Instead of opening and closing with a prayer to God through Jesus Christ, they complained, she opened and closed her liberal propaganda sermon with a prayer to Mother Mystery, whoever that is.
Dang it. Cru?
Does that mean Campus Crusade for Christ has been infiltrated? Or is it a local problem with Baylor.
in the end days God will send a ‘strong delusion’, and many will fall for it IF they begin to compromise with evil-
would like to hear how Baylor defends this-
I’m hearing our SBC seminaries have been infiltrated again.
If we ever get control of them again, we need to guard them like gold.
[[If we ever get control of them again, we need to guard them like gold.]]
Absolutely- How was it under Adrian Rogers? I listen to his old videos on youtube- He soudned very solid- I think he headed SBC for awhile if i remember right? I think he lamented the fact that the SBC was straying? Maybe i ‘misremember’
But yes, if we ever get control of it again- it needs to be guarded like gold as you say- We can’t lose this battle against the Evil One-
Revelation 17:5 “And upon her forehead was a name written, Mystery, Babylon The Great, The Mother Of Harlots And Abominations Of The Earth.”
As an American indian myself, I can smell these fake indians from a mile away. When I saw her described as a “Native American new age occultists” I knew before I ever read up on her. Here’s a photo of her, she’s as Indian as Elizabeth Warren.
Had friends that were missionaries with CCC - they left right before the "name change" (wasn't just a name change").
(They joined up with Wycliff Bible translators - doing much better now).
Hard to believe that Baptists are bending the knee to diversity
I had met Robert Sloan, former chancellor of Baylor and now president of Houston Baptist University. Baylor has indeed fallen away.
Baylor has been lost , in every sense of the word for 3 or 4 decades.
The last graduation I attended there was an eye opener. With almost no plain American names graduating, not common names from North or South America.
I thought it a real shame for a once Christian school. When you have people like Ken Starr as chancellor as favor for the Bushes all pretense is gone. Although I know several strong preacher groups in Texas have fought for it, the cost is not near obtainable for most Texas Baptist.
Sad as it is I hear the liberal professors are working their way into Texas
A & M.
It is a local problem with Baylor. Roughly a year ago, a white professor gave a graduation prayer demonizing white men.
Baylor Spring 2019 Graduation (Sat) - Dan Freemyer Benediction Prayer
Protestants can’t ever address their own problems without a snide and gratuitous dig at Catholics, can they?
The on ramp to the road to Hell is not labeled Hell, 5 miles but Go along to get along and popularity this way etc.
that is true- and ‘drinks and snacks available along the way’
Just like they defended their rapist football players.
Rapist football players bring in money to the school. I don’t see how this Indian shaman does that unless buffalo hides are still legal tender in Texas. Maybe its monetized peyote buttons!
