The country with the cheapest oil wins. The country with oil that is too expensive risks being invaded and occupied. Oil in enormous quantities is of the utmost importance in a military pursuit (see Patton, fuel). Cheap oil is necessary for a strong economy. Do you want to pay much more at the pumps? Military leaders and academics have long warned that nations would be fighting increasingly more in time over oil resources. You’re seeing part of that fight with propaganda in social media now.

So in a nutshell, you argument is that anywhere on earth there is oil, we should naturally invade and seize it because that keeps prices down? A trite argument because whoever owns it will sell it. The same volume in the market will create roughly the same price. OPEC hasn’t been able to successfully dictate a price since the late 1970s.

At least we should drop the pretense of being on some kind of moral crusade and just say we are out to plunder countries that cannot resist.

The US imports crude oil and petroleum products from Canada. It is our #1 importer. The next two Countries (almost tied) are Mexico, at #2 and Russia, at #3.
