Trump Hints That Vindman May Face Disciplinary Action From Pentagon

President Trump on Tuesday suggested that the Pentagon should review the conduct of a former White House national security aide who played a central role in the Democrats’ impeachment case and potentially consider disciplinary action against him.

Army Lt. Col. Alex Vindman, who until last week was detailed by the Pentagon to the White House, testified before the House impeachment panel that Trump inappropriately pushed Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskiy to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter.

Vindman was ousted from his job on the White House National Security Council on Friday, just two days after the Senate acquitted Trump on abuse of power and obstruction of justice charges. He is to be reassigned by the Pentagon.

Trump has already been sharply criticized for pushing out Vindman and others who crossed him in the impeachment hearings.

Asked whether he wanted to see Vindman face discipline, Trump said military officials “can handle him any way they want” but also suggested that he expected commanders to review the decorated, 20-year officer’s conduct.

“That’s going to be up the military,” Trump said. “We’ll have to see. They are certainly, I imagine, going to take a look at that.”

National Security Adviser Robert O’Brien assured reporters Tuesday that the decision to remove Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman and his brother Yevgeny from the National Security Council was solely his own, and the brothers were “absolutely not retaliated against.”

His twin brother, Lt. Col. Yevgeny Vindman, also served on the NSC and was ousted from his job. He is to be assigned to the Army General Counsel’s Office.

“can handle him any way they want”

“That’s going to be up the military,”

Yeah, actual words do not match the headline.

Take his “bird” away.

He doesn't have one and hopefully never will! He will feel lucky to retain his silver oak leaves!

He did no such thing. I heard what he said.

I also read what he said and it did not match that report. This guy is off to the Army War College, not thrown to the curb. Trump suggested the Army review his activities at the NSC, nothing more.

I am so tired of this at best stupid and at worse conspiratorial press.

Billy Mitchell was court marshaled for much much more - proving that air power was making the horse and buggy army a relic of the past. Losing the flower of French and British youth in trench warfare wasn’t enough to change old ways of thinking. Just like today New England Ivy League elite think they should run the country when all of the ideas and economic power come from elsewhere.

The fact that he passed on “classified” information on to his brother should be enough to strip him of his rank.

If there is disciplinary action by the Pentagon, that is between Lieutenant Colonel Vindman and the US Army, nothing to do with the direct action of the President. The President merely called for his reassignment, as his services were no longer needed on the National Security Council.

Somehow I can’t help but think it’s probably gonna go pretty bad when the President is talking about your OER and not in a good way.

The “Rule of Law Republicans” have an ad about what a hero Vindman is. I’m sure those creeps include Romney and Kristol. Wonder what they are afraid Trump is going to find out about them?

Trump has already been sharply criticized for pushing out Vindman and others who crossed him in the impeachment hearings.

Who crossed him? What a steaming pile of BS. Vindman was part of the cabal that was behind his impeachment. He lied about what was in the call and worked with the so-called whistleblower, Eric Ciaramella, and Schiff to take out the President.

All taught, if said at all. Look at Bergdorf, he’s still out there, free as can be. I’m tired of talk and would prefer to see announcement of charges filed, security clearances revoked, arrests made. That would be news.

There was a commercial running this morning re: Vindman making him look like a hero. It was put out by "Republicans for Justice" or some such.

Any bets on who is really behind the commercial?

All that time and money......and all because Obama’s Ukraine ‘experts’ were butt-hurt that Trump didn’t follow their opinions on Foreign Policy for Ukraine. That is ALL that it ever was.
