The prosecution team in Roger Stone's criminal case abruptly resigned from the case on Tuesday after the Justice Department said it planned to reduce the recommended sentence for the longtime Trump associate.
**SNIP**
Zelinsky, who was a part of former special counsel Robert Mueller's team investigating Russian election interference, is not resigning from the Justice Department but is leaving the Washington, D.C. U.S. Attorney's Office and returning to his old job with the U.S. Attorney in Maryland.
Another one of the prosecutors, Jonathan Kravis, also resigned both from the case and his job as an assistant U.S. attorney. Kravis on Tuesday filed a notice with the judge saying he "no longer represents the government in this matter." The other two prosecutors, Adam Jed and Michael Marando, also withdrew from the case.
Trump in a tweet earlier in the day called the department's initial sentencing proposal "disgraceful!"
"This is a horrible and very unfair situation," the president wrote in a follow-up post on Twitter. "The real crimes were on the other side, as nothing happens to them. Cannot allow this miscarriage of justice!"

Reminds me of Comey sentencing Martha Stewart to prison for doing what hundreds ahve done before with no penalty. Of course they were chiefly male.
Three lied to the DoJ about the sentencing recommendations they were submitting, and the guy just appointed to oversee them completely failed to do so.
Resigned?
I doubt it.
My suspicion is that they were given a choice: Resign or be fired and publicly disgraced.
My advice to those in the DOJ:
Act like God and the Barr will bite your ass.
Four asses fired by Barr and newly appointed DC USA Shea after trying to pull a fast one and lying to the boss. Maybe Perkins Coie is hiring...
this is really strange - somebody was trying to pull something - is Barr really in charge of the DOJ, or just a figurehead?
Resigned from the case? They need to turn in their resignations.
And mostly Congress...
Resigned from the case? They need to turn in their resignations.
Probably tomorrow they will be seen wandering the halls of the DOJ mumbling “Damn, I need to go to the bathroom, but my key won’t work.”
Some apparently just resigned from the case and some resigned from case and DOJ entirely.
If Barr had been AG from day one Trump could have told him not to prosecute Stone at all. It would have saved Stone a ton of money and Trump the need to pardon him.
If I’m not mistaken, I believe Zelinsky did tender his resignation today.
Never fear....these lawyers will be working again tomorrow on K Street.... /mega-SARCASM
If Trump had done that the Democrats would have Impeached him for it.
Zelinsky should be disbarred.
remember this?

Did you forget the </sarcasm> tag?
A neat little set-up here. The Muller team sets a sentence...the DOJ & Trump say the sentence is too harsh, so the 4 lawyers resign saying Trump and the DOJ are political and stepping in to help Stone.
The Dems in the senate & house start an investigation.
Love it. Deep State is cutting loose. Well... uh - bye!
Probably tomorrow they will be seen wandering the halls of the DOJ mumbling Damn, I need to go to the bathroom, but my key wont work.
Thet probably will be on CNN tomorrow saying they were bullied and obstructed by POTUS.
