So true. Too often, the news media behave more like gossip mongers than news reporters.
The court transcript of the testimony on the DNA evidence is HERE.
The unknown man's DNA was found on the accuser both externally and internally (not just on panties). According to the testimony on the DNA results, if the other man's DNA was "older," then it would've been present at the time of the alleged rape, which means K.B. should've picked up some of that other man's DNA. But the swabs of K.B. found only the accuser's DNA.
That's why the prosecution floated this idea of the "wrong panties" - they were trying to make an argument about "transference" of DNA between panties and the accuser. They also floated the idea of "contamination." Because, once those DNA results were in, the prosecution had to come up with a reason for this other man's DNA to be present internally on the accuser but not on the accused.
Where did you see that information about the chair?
I agree that backing out of the criminal case but filing a civil suit was a financial decision. No one can really know what happens behind closed doors, but the prosecution's case was falling apart.
I bet Free Republic's server had indigestion after you force fed it that document.
I actually recall watching some of these hearings on Court TV.
My recollection is that ALL the sperm samples were tiny traces, and that the woman said she had sex with Male One a couple days prior to the rape, which seemed consistent to me, and seemed easy to prove.
I think I saw the reference to blood drops on the chair at the Kobe trial link on Wiki, but I read a couple more links from Google, too, so I might be mistaken.
Historically - it has all came down to He Said/She Said.
You’re welcome. When I did a Google search for more info on the DNA evidence, that FR thread appeared on the first page of the search results. Go figure. This forum can be a great source for information.
