Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) thanked his supporters for giving his campaign a "strong victory" in the Iowa caucuses on Thursday, days after the state's chaotic contest and as the Democratic National Committee's (DNC) chairman has called for a recanvass.
The Iowa Democratic Party on Thursday released its latest batch of results, after technical mishaps delayed the results following the caucuses on Monday.
With 97 percent of precincts now reporting, the results showed South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg with 26.2 percent of state delegate equivalents and Sanders with 26.1 percent. Sanders, however, is leading in the final votes tally, though the share of delegates is considered the most important metric of the Iowa results.

Lol the head of the DNC is calling for Iowa to re canvass the election.
Vote counting to win is such “pre-woke” concept.
Wouldn’t be better if the party leadership she “deemed” a winner like the way we got ZeroCare?
Bernie is about to get SCROOOD again.
This time I expect his supporters will take to the streets.
Gotta lay in a bigger popcorn supply.
So the second place vote getter, gets the most delegates. Nice system there Iowa.
I bet the DNC somewhat tamped down the vote totals for Bern. Share the wealth like a good commie bee.
You have to accept the results before we decide what they are.
Not so fast Bernie, DNC hasn’t finished their vote laundering.
“””””after technical mishaps delayed the results “””””””””
That’s not how you spell FUSTER CLUCK.
Apparently Bernie won the popular vote in both the 1st and 2nd rounds of voting in Iowa and yet somehow we aren’t being told that? It’s really amazing the extent to which the news is still being falsified.
There were statistically no people present.
Winning only 500+ votes is a debacle
Every queer and dyke in Iowa came out to vote for the queer Mayor and it was still only 500
They agree with Bernie, socialism-wise, but they can't abide his straightforward approach to politics, one highly suspects.
All that said, the Dems' thumb will always, always be on the voter tally scale.
Always.
.
Bernie walked away quietly in 2016 for the price of a nice vacation home on Lake Champlain. What will it take this time?
His strength in the popular vote will carry over to success in other primaries. However, I think he has a low ceiling. He’s got a pretty good floor - seems to hover around 25-30% in his support - most of which comes from youthful supporters giving him an average of $18 per contribution.
Yet, he doesn’t turn that into national appeal. Even in the primaries. I don’t think he can do it. Nor can Biden. In this case, all Iowa did, IMO, is empower Bloomberg.

"Winners" and "Losers" are artificial social constructs. In reality, there are 57 different types of outcomes to an election. Iowa caucus results are on a spectrum. Some people may feel they are winners one day and losers the next day, or that they are both winners and losers, or they neither won nor lost, and that's OK.
Am I to understand that most of the democrat party has now parked the popular vote bus and now endorse the Democrat Iowa Caucus Electoral College? Thats rich.
The Democratic view on what is democracy and what is not changes hourly.
Keep up, deplorable citizen!
