Warning shots, unicorns, Santa, the Easter Bunny, the good fairy, are bullshit. Shoot till the threat is gone. The best gunfight is the one you’re never in, but you have to be the winner if that’s the last resort. IMHO

There is one rule in a gun fight... THERE ARE NO RULES IN A GUN FIGHT. Shoot to stop the threat.
I once successfully used a warning shot.
Another thing that cops are trained to do, is to KEEP shooting until you are sure the threat has been stopped (the bad guy goes down). One bullet may not be enough. If the threat was enough to shoot him once, then keep shooting until he falls.
