Publicly.
And the manager who hired him, and the person responsible for security in his dept./division, should be *fired* and barred for life form working on any classified material ever again.

The people who issued clearance to him should have taken it into account.

Threats make them high risk employees so they shouldn’t have security clearances. I’ve worked with quite a few and they just present a higher risk.
Either for money or threats or allegiance they will spy.

"Chinese-born American citizen"

No matter how much the liberal idiots howl about it, Chinese-born American citizens should NOT be given access to US secrets. Would China let an American born non-Asian have access to their secrets?

Further, we should absolutely require ANY US defense contractors/companies to sign an agreement that states 'in order to participate in any US military contract work, the contractor/company agrees to pay fines, up to $2 billion to the US treasury if they are found to have employed anyone who is passing secrets to a foreign power, with fines increasing the longer this activity goes undetected by the contractor/company'.

I guarantee they will be a lot more careful vetting who they hire, and observing their employees.

“Sun didn’t listen, according to US prosecutors.”

I would have taken the computer away right then, when Sun said he would take it to China, and put in writing exactly what the company would do, including cooperation with prosecuting authorities, if Sun had copied anything sensitive.

How could you possibly trust what he might tell you?

In most cases they would not divulge that kind of information, the names of other agents, to him.

Yes, I doubt he is an agent, and is doing it for the money.

Forget the damn plea agreement, and try him for treason.

It has become regular news to hear about Chinese working in sensitive sectors such as defence and high tech, stealing the technology and taking it to China.

Not sure why this person has been given a plea deal, he should be sent to jail for a very long time for endangering this country and betraying it. There are quite a number of them engaged in this betrayal and caught in the act.

It should be very obvious by now that Chinese coming to the US and getting into defence and sensitive high tech are quite possibly spies for the Chinese government.

There are rules if you do, but it isn’t prohibited if it’s a business trip. Odd that he told the company before his trip. Somebody jumped on it and caught him out.

Why is the Federal Government allowing these weapons manufacturers to hire alians to work in these sensitive projects?

If they are not native born they should not be allowed in any of the Defense Industries. We are cutting our own throats when we allow this to happen.

It’s just stupid. Thanks for nothing Raytheon.

I don’t understand if Raytheon knew he was working on military stuff; he had top-secret clearance; and the computer belonged to Raytheon - why was he allowed to take it out of the country? It wasn’t even his.

" Why they would help out a bankrupt political system and not cast their lot with the US is beyond me."

Because they don't want to get a bill from the PRC for the bullets that killed their parents, and the notification that their brothers and sisters were sectioned as organ donors?

Give him a fair trial.

Then hang him by the neck until he’s dead.

Ship the corpse back to China freight collect.

Cash only.

Exactly - right then! He announced his intentions and queried whether it was ok. NO - and you take it from him. Where’s his boss in all of this?
