Shoes. One thing you can’t buy on the internet.

I bought two pairs from eBay. (More like “vinylized slippers”)

Parts fell off, but they were lightweight and very comfortable. At $5, I’d buy them again.

Ummmm... hate to tell you, but once you figure out your sizes in various manufacturers’ schemes, you can indeed order shoes over the internet. I’ve been doing that for more than a decade and had few problems.

Also, return policies are a thing. Yes, you can buy shoes on the internet just fine.

Wrong.

The good online shoe companies have great painless return policies if the shoes do not fit you well.

It tends to be the older shoppers who have trouble with doing things differently.

I've not stepped into an actual shoe store to try on shoes in probably 5 years. Everything I get is off the 'net (especially since I know what I am looking for.)

Why pay rent for a business when I already know what I need?

Caveat: I've returned 2 (one was a mistake on the seller's part and the other was from a seller I do plenty of business from - and bought something else from them a month later - which cost more.

Actually you can if you buy what you have.

have bought the same Merrill Moabs size 10, both low cut and high cut at least four times

That is, from a reputable manufacturer there is consistency

“Shoes. One thing you can’t buy on the internet.”

That’s why there’s a Dick’s Sporting Goods....Amazon’s shoe showroom.

I’m on my fourth pair of Columbia Redmond trail running shoes purchased online...after trying them on at Dick’s. Second pair of Danner boots. Admittedly, the second pair of Danners fit but there was something at the lace line that was pressing into my ankle. I didn’t return them and vowed to make them work (I have). They were camo and hard to find. As mentioned...easy return policies are a big bonus.

Actually you can. Try finding boots in a retail store. Impossible for all practical purposes create

If you’re familiar with the term, motorcycle riders often wear engineer boots. They’re what I like to wear when I ride.

Basically the only way to buy those is online. What you do is you go to Amazon or Zappos and you order anywhere from three to five pairs. You try them on when you get them and you ship back whatever you don’t want for free. You get a refund within a few days. Boot purchase finished.

I don't think I've bought shoes in a store in at least 15 years. I know my size and I know what I like. Besides which, Amazon prime allows free returns if something doesn't fit. I only used it once when they sent me a XXS instead of an XXL shirt. It was too small to even fit my Bichon Frise. heh.

Unless you wear a size 15 Wide. At 6’7” and 275 pounds, everything I wear is from online retailers.

#5 I buy my shoes online. Usual Rockport.
I like their Rockport Men’s Eureka Walking Shoe k71202 chocalate XW. Very comfortable. The chocalate is a suede type material. The other options are cheap looking fake leather.

I have to get a XW because when I was a kid I went to the circus and the elephants stepped on my feet.... : )
